A Little Visitor on Copperhead Road

This morning, while the fog still hung low over the pasture, Mama brought someone new by for a visit.

At first glance, you might only notice her—head down, quietly grazing like she’s been here a hundred times before.

But look over to the left…

There’s a tiny little face peeking through the grass. ❤️

Baby stayed close enough to keep an eye on Mama, but far enough away to do a little exploring of their own.

I imagine Mama saying, “It’s okay. I know this place. We can stop here awhile.”

And that thought makes me smile.

Of all the acres of woods and fields surrounding us, she felt comfortable enough to bring her baby through Copperhead Road.

Welcome, little one. 🦌❤️

Grow strong. Stay close to Mama. And please learn very quickly which four-legged residents around here are friends…and which fluffy gray one named Dexter most definitely is not. 😂

Peter Parker has appointed himself Director of Pond Management. The goats are hard at work clearing brush, the guardians are on patrol, and Copperhead Road is slowly becoming the farm we dreamed of. One muddy hoofprint at a time.

After careful investigation, blurry photos, and extensive scientific analysis… we may have finally solved the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster.

Turns out it’s just Steve and Peter out for a swim in the pond. 🤣

Honestly though, if you saw this from a distance, you’d probably start telling stories too. Between the guineas standing guard, the foggy pond, and two long-necked creatures cruising through the water… it does have strong “ancient cryptid sighting” energy.

I was trying to get a good picture of this wild little onion/allium bloom… and Olaf kindly volunteered himself as a contrasting background.

Honestly, I think he improved the composition. 🌿🐾
