Today and every day, we honor the brave men and women who have served our country, and those who continue to do so. Your courage, strength, and sacrifice make the freedoms we enjoy possible, and we are forever grateful.

At Custom Canines, Veterans Day holds deep meaning. Many of our volunteers, raisers, and trainers are inspired to do what they do because of the impact service members have had on their lives. Each puppy raised, each dog trained, and each partnership formed is a tribute to those who have given so much for others.

Our mission to provide life-changing service dogs to veterans is built on gratitude, respect, and the belief that no hero should ever stand alone.

🐾 Meet the Member Monday!
Scott and Donna are the proud puppy raisers of Duckee, a sweet girl with a very special mission. 💛

They’re raising Duckee for Scott’s sister, Tori, a military veteran whose current service dog, Benji, will one day retire. Their goal is to help Duckee grow into a confident and capable compression-therapy service dog worthy of Tori’s service to our country. 🇺🇸

We’re so grateful to Scott and Donna for opening their hearts and home to give Duckee the best start on her journey! 💕

The key is consistency. Stay calm, stay steady, and remind yourself of the bigger picture. Every challenge is an opportunity for growth for both you and your dog. 💛

Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance or support along the way. Training is a journey, not a race. The effort you put in now builds the foundation for a lifelong partnership. 🐕‍🦺✨

Meet the Member Monday: Patti & Willie 🐾
Patti has raised and trained many incredible dogs for Custom Canines, and she’s currently raising Willie, a handsome yellow Lab! 💛

When asked what inspires her to volunteer, Patti shared:
“The main reason I raise dogs for Custom Canines is because I’m so passionate about dogs! Dogs give love so freely! Volunteering is what brings happiness into my life.”

We couldn’t do what we do without amazing volunteers like Patti. Her heart for dogs and people shines through in everything she does! 💕🐕‍🦺

What an incredible day at Paws & Pours! 🐾

Even with the cold and rain, our community showed up big and we couldn’t be more grateful. From tasty food and live music to bourbon tastings, Bourbon for the Brave bottle sales, and so many amazing raffle baskets, it was a day full of laughter, wagging tails, and good company. 🥃🎶🎟️

A special thank-you to Tracy Whipple and ToaD Gives Back for hosting this incredible event, and to J. Henry & Sons Wisconsin Straight Bourbon for donating a portion of the proceeds from our Bourbon for the Brave barrel. We’re so grateful for your partnership and generosity!
