What an incredible day at the American Warrior Initiative event in Appleton, WI! 🇺🇸

We are deeply grateful to the American Warrior Initiative and all those involved for their continued commitment to supporting our nation’s veterans. Through their generosity and partnership, another veteran is one step closer to receiving a life-changing service dog.

At CCSDA, we know that our mission is only possible because of organizations, sponsors, donors, and community members who believe in the power of service dogs and the people they serve. Together, we are creating lasting change in the lives of veterans and first responders.

🐾☀️ Our West Coast team recently gathered for their monthly training outing, enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery, great company, and valuable training opportunities along the way!

These outings are about so much more than training dogs. They’re about building a community of people who share a passion for changing lives. Every puppy raiser, volunteer, supporter, and team member plays an important role in helping our future service dogs succeed.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support our mission of providing highly trained service dogs to veterans and first responders. Your dedication, time, and commitment make all of this possible, and we are grateful to have such an incredible village from coast to coast. ❤️🐕‍🦺

🐾🩵 Meet Grace! 🩵🐾

There’s a new face joining the Custom Canines family, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce Grace!

This sweet Black Labrador Retriever is beginning her service dog journey and has already been bringing smiles wherever she goes. Grace is currently receiving her puppy imprinting and early foundation training with our incredible Puppy Raisers, Bob, Amanda, and family. This marks the sixth puppy they have helped raise and train through Custom Canines! We are grateful for you every step of the way!

Our Custom Canines family just got a little sweeter! Meet Sierra, the cutest Yellow Labrador Retriever who has officially begun her journey as a future service dog.

Sierra is being lovingly raised by longtime Puppy Raisers Kyle, Jessica, and family, who are now raising their third service dog with Custom Canines. Beyond the dogs they’ve raised themselves, they have also been a tremendous help to many other service dogs in our program. Their dedication, patience, and commitment to our mission help make life-changing partnerships possible, and we are so grateful for their continued support.

🏎️☕🐾 Our West Coast team had a wonderful time attending the Porsche Club of America Palm Springs Region Summer Cars & Coffee event!

We are incredibly grateful for the invitation and the opportunity to share the Custom Canines Service Dog Academy mission with such a welcoming community. Events like these allow us to build meaningful connections, raise awareness, and introduce more people to the life-changing impact of service dogs.

We are excited to introduce Miles, one of the newest members of the CCSDA family! This adorable Black Labrador Retriever has officially begun his journey in our service dog program and is already settling in wonderfully.

Miles is being puppy raised by our incredible longtime Puppy Raisers, Bob, Amanda, and family, who are now raising their fifth service dog for Custom Canines! Their dedication, love, and commitment to our mission continue to make a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for everything they do.

Travel On A Dream

Service dog in-training, Hans, went shopping to beat the heat today and may have found his new summer style! 🇺🇸☀️

After trying on a few hats, he headed home to relax in front of a fan with all his favorite toys. We think he has the right idea!

As temperatures continue to rise, remember to keep your dogs cool with plenty of fresh water, shade, and breaks from outdoor activities. Hot pavement can quickly become dangerous for sensitive paws, so be sure to check surfaces before heading out. 🐾

🌊🐾 Water Safety Matters! 🐾🌊

Summer adventures are better with our dogs by our side, whether you're boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, or simply enjoying a day at the lake. But before you hit the water, take a moment to think about safety.

Not all dogs are natural swimmers, and even strong swimmers can become tired, disoriented, or injured in deep water. Puppies, senior dogs, and certain breeds may be especially vulnerable. A properly fitted life jacket can make all the difference if your dog unexpectedly falls into the water or finds themselves in a situation they can't navigate safely.

A few quick water safety reminders:

🐾 Always use a properly fitted life jacket when participating in water activities.
🐾 Never assume your dog can swim well just because they are a dog.
🐾 Keep fresh drinking water available to prevent your dog from drinking lake or river water.
🐾 Supervise dogs closely around docks, boats, and fast-moving water.
🐾 Help your dog practice safely entering and exiting the water before an emergency happens.

Our dogs trust us to keep them safe. Taking a few extra precautions today can help ensure many more adventures together tomorrow. ❤️
