I provide high quality care for anyone staying in home with us. It is a privilege to be trusted with someone's dog, and they deserve to be treated with high quality care. With two personal dogs of my own, I find two board and trains is my MAX. I prefer only one. It is where we can keep safety a priority, provide high quality training, and fulfill not only our guests but my personal dogs and family too. This is with no regular boarding, regular boarding doesn't provide the quality of care I like to provide. Additionally I only offer pet care for established clients. My home isn't humongous and isn't a facility. Knowing my limits is what makes this service enjoyable and safe.
In the last couple months more and more in home board and train programs killing dogs. It is often found that these trainers have 4-10 board and trains, on top of normal boarding, AND having personal dogs (more often then not they are high drive with high needs). You can not be doing all these things without cutting corners. That corner is usually basic safety protocols.
You should be able to go to see where your dog is staying, ask about insurance, ask about how many dogs will be in the home, how many board and trains will be staying, get regular updates, etc.
What are more green flags and red flags? Drop it in the comments I'd love to hear more.
