Our Story

The Ark was founded by pet parents searching for a safe, loving home away from home for their beloved pets. Unable to find a clean and fun place for their pets to stay, Jay Floyd and his family decided to build their own pet boarding facility to help not only his own family but countless other families facing the same dilemma. In 2006, Jay opened the very first Ark Pet Spa & Hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Since then, the Ark has offered daycare, boarding and grooming services to pet owners throughout the Southeast.

What sets the Ark apart from other pet boarding and grooming companies is our dedicated and well-trained crew, our state-of-the-art facilities made with your pet in mind, and our ability to care for all types of pets - from iguanas to pot-bellied pigs. Like our name implies, we welcome pets of every shape and size.

As of 2020, the Ark in Madison offers pet boarding, daycare, grooming and retail to pet owners in across Chattanooga. All of our crew members in Madison are both pet lovers and pet care professionals. We strive to make every single pet who walks, waddles or flies through our doors feel like a part of the Ark family.

Along with doggie daycare, pet boarding and grooming, the Ark in Madison offers a full selection of all-natural dog treats and cookies in the Slobberbones Bakery & Market . While you’re picking your dog up from daycare, you can stock up on kibble, essential pet supplies and special treats that will leave your pup begging for more.
