We like to use "Reward Events". This is different from simply giving your dog a treat. Instead it involves movement, excitement, praise and food. We combine all of these in different ways so that each reward event is slightly different, keeping your dog interested.
Additionally, it's important that you FIND WHAT YOUR DOG FINDS ENJOYABLE and use that in your reward events . For my dog Lucy, it's spinning and jumping. If you have questions post them in the comments.

Rigel had an awesome time in his first Adventure-Walk. He has come so far in the past year! Beth, his owner has really given him an incredible quality of life. Her older pup Cassie has also been super helpful in making Rigel feel comfortable.

Rigel had his first vet visit this past week and did incredible! Beth has done an amazing job with his training and building up their relationship! Well done y'all.

P.S. Well done to Cassie as well! Having a well adjusted dog in the home is a huge help for a traumatized rescue dog. Cassie not only served as a playmate, but also a great example of how to handle all the different things that happen in everyday life.

This is why we take training recall ("come") so seriously. Eventually there will be a situation in which you NEED your dog to come when called.

I like teaching this cue to our more sensitive dogs. It's a great way to get them excited and happy when they're feeling a little nervous or uncertain.

This year's award for smallest Happy Pack dog goes to... Soju, at a whopping 4 lbs!
He recently started training with us and is making great progress! We look forward to watching him grow both in training and in size, lol.
