I harvested my first two little loofahs that had dried on the vine… and my big dogs ate BOTH of them. 😂

Totally my fault. I gave them loofahs to play with when they were puppies, and apparently they have never forgotten. Now I can’t even keep one in the bathtub!

But seriously, this little plant amazes me.

You don’t need a plastic scrubber. A natural loofah does the job. I use it in the shower to scrub my skin, and as it gets older it gets softer and softer.

When it’s finally past its body-scrubbing days, I let it dry really well and move it to the sink. Now it’s my sink scrubber.

And when it’s completely worn out?

Right into the compost. 🌱

Grow it. Use it. Reuse it. Compost it.

I’m learning more and more that sometimes the simplest things really are enough.

My goodness… is August EVER going to cool down? 🥵🔥

Some days it really does feel like the Earth is on fire.

Maybe it’s a good reminder for all of us: take care of this beautiful planet, peeps. Love it a little more. 🌎💚

Plant something. Grow something. Add a little shade. Give the birds and pollinators a place to land. Add some nature back into your life — even if it’s just a few plants in your own backyard.

Nature takes care of us. We need to take care of it, too. 🌻🐝🌳

🥬 Y’all need to know about this little veggie stand! 🍅🌽

Bryan has been stopping at The Veggie Stand off 142nd & Tahoka Highway and bringing home fresh vegetables for me for a while now. Of course, I cook them, we eat them, and I never really thought much beyond that. 😂

Well, I finally went with him this morning and thought, Okay… people need to know about this place!

If you love fresh vegetables and actually enjoy cooking, go by and support this lady. The vegetables are beautiful, fresh, and SO GOOD — and you're supporting someone local at the same time. ❤️

And the fresh black-eyed peas… I put those babies in the Crock-Pot and OH. MY. GOD. They were soooo good!
