🎉 MAMA HEAVENS HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🎉

Our hearts are absolutely bursting! The beautiful Mama Heavens has officially found her forever family, and we could not be happier. She is finally getting the endless cuddles, cozy couch time, and long walks she has always deserved. 🐾❤️

Heavens’ story started in the darkest of ways—she was heartlessly dumped in rural Kentucky alongside her nine weaned puppies. Though the ordeal was devastating, she fought to save her babies, and six of them survived. Thanks to her incredible foster family, Heavens finally got the chance to rest, heal, and learn what it feels like to be loved.

Now, this brave mama is officially home!

🐾 Want to find your own perfect match?
We have so many incredible dogs and cats still waiting for their happily-ever-afters. Could your couch be their next stop? 👉 View all adoptable animals: https://thearrowfund.org/our-animals/adoptable-animals/

🚨 Intake Alert: Posey 🚨

She’s more than just an emaciated dog.

When we first saw photos of Posey, we were speechless. We couldn’t help but wonder what, or who, could cause such a beautiful dog to deteriorate into little more than skin and bones.

But then we met her.

Looking at her photos, many people would assume she would be fearful of humans after everything she’s endured. After all, it was humans who failed her. Yet somehow, Posey still chooses love.

She is sweet, gentle, and incredibly kind. She proudly carries around her red ball, hoping someone will toss it for her. Despite everything she’s been through, Posey hasn’t given up. She wants to live, and we are determined to give her that chance.

If you’ve followed The Arrow Fund for any length of time, you know we’ve been hit hard with medical cases recently. From multiple broken bones to severe neglect cases, our veterinary expenses continue to climb, and now Posey needs our help too.
Today, Posey is safe. She has food, medical care, and people who are fighting for her. But we can’t do it alone.

If you are able to donate toward Posey’s care, or toward the many animals currently in our program, we would be incredibly grateful. Every dollar helps us continue saying “yes” to animals like Posey when they need us most.

Please join us on Friday, June 26th to meet this handsome, good-hearted, easy-going smaller Shepherd we call Stellar (the name fits his outstanding personality!).

He’s our June TAF Hero Dog, and this sweet guy truly is heroic. At only 2-years-old, this good boy has survived horrific abuse, was rescued by people he seemed to understand wanted to help him, healed well under the care of Dr. Chris at Dogwood Vet Clinic, and is loving life now among friends.

Stellar’s foster gave him an absolutely glowing report: this gentle dog is SMART, good natured, and seems to LOVE adults, kids, dogs, and cats!

Please stop in to say hi to Stellar and some of his TAF friends (canine and human), and relax with an adult beverage (wine, beer, cocktails available) among other dog-loving people!

📢 WHAT: TAF HERO DOG meet and greet for Stellar!
🗓️ WHEN: 6-8 PM on Friday, June 26th
🍷 WHERE: Vines Wine Bar & Spirit Shop, 1985 Douglass Blvd., Louisville, KY 40205

Look at those paws go! 🐾 We have officially hit the halfway mark of The Arrow Walk!

Seeing our village lace up their sneakers and hit the pavement every single day to fight animal cruelty has been nothing short of inspiring. But to turn those miles into actual medical miracles, we need to rally our fundraising.

Right now, we are behind on our goal for the month, and the emergency intakes aren't slowing down. From orthopedic surgeries to critical ICU care, our Medical Fund is what allows us to look at a broken animal and see a future, rather than a bill.

You don't have to walk a mile to be a hero today. You just have to hit the link in our bio.

👉 Donate today—one-time or monthly—and help us cross our fundraising finish line!

TAF Update: Peaches is cleared for adoption! 🍑 🐈🧡

This sweet, 1-year-old, sunshine-colored female kitty is a rare gem. Most cats who are abandoned outside do not survive long. She not only beat the odds, despite being discarded to fend for herself as a kitten, she managed to remain sociable and trusting. She even made friends with the dogs who were tethered to trash piles of rubble in her little corner of the world.

Through allergies and/or immune suppression as a neglected cat with no one to care for her, she developed horribly painful and inflamed “Pillow Foot” (pododermatitis) that ruptured on one of her paws, making every step torturous.

Someone found her and her dog friends and got them the help they needed. Someone did care. Because she required medical intervention and time to heal, The Arrow Fund was contacted, and we stepped up to help this sweetheart.

She’s healed well through the care and treatments from our Arrow Fund medical partners and with the TLC she’s received from her wonderful foster who thinks this girl is pretty special, too.

Her foster said she’s not only extremely loving with people, Peaches is also very friendly to other cats. “She came in and wanted to make friends quickly! She is super affectionate and very playful!”

🧡 🧡 🧡 If you want a sweetheart of a young kitty who seems to make friends with everyone she meets and has the kind of gratitude for the safety and comfort of a loving home that we often find in rescued animals, please apply for Peaches and give her a reason to purr herself (or you) to sleep every night:

🐱 For our cat lovers out there: this is National Adopt-A-Cat Month! If you can’t adopt Peaches right now, but want to help more abused/horribly neglected cats find a better life through The Arrow Fund, please make a donation in your favorite cat’s name or memory:

TAF Auburn Update: Look at what amazing care and lots of love can do!

The outcome of this baby’s life, at just 3-months-old, was precarious at best. He was suffering from a bite wound, juvenile cellulitis, and then, the life-threatening parvo virus.

Today, just one month later, he is healing and has turned a corner for the better.

You truly helped saved his life. With the generous support you give to these beautiful animals who have suffered and desperately need a second chance for good health and a loving place to recover, you make it possible for animals like Auburn to get the urgent help they desperately need.

Your gifts to our TAF medical fund clearly demonstrate that the lives of innocent animals who have suffered horrible abuse and neglect do matter. That someone does care. We cannot thank you enough for your gifts. You make the difference between life and death for these animals.

At Auburn’s recent checkup at Dogwood Veterinary Clinic, it was clear Auburn is now on the path to good health and a good life.

“Auburn was presented today for a recheck following his recent treatment for puppy strangles, parvovirus, and bite wounds. Puppy strangles, also called juvenile cellulitis, is an immune-related condition seen in young dogs that causes swelling and sores, often around the face. Parvovirus is a serious viral infection that affects the stomach and intestines, and the bite wounds were the result of a previous attack. Auburn has been through quite a lot, so it is awesome to see how far he has come!”

Auburn will return for another puppy checkup in two weeks, and will be in the care of his amazing Arrow Fund foster mom, Katie, who spoils him with love, kindness, puppy playtime, socialization, nutritious food for his growing body, and all the kisses and snuggles one puppy can ever ask for!

ALERT: TAF Emergency Intakes!

Our three most recent intakes have arrived from Wolfe Co., Ky.—each have suffered their own versions of hell from abuse, neglect, and cruelty. TAF family, we need you.

Meet Daisy Mae, Tori, and Gentle Ben:

DAISY MAE has suffered INCREDIBLY painful injuries from beatings. Her wounds are seeping, her fur is gone from severe demodex mange, and yet, she still seeks love. Her emotional wounds may heal faster than her physical ones. She will need lots of medical care in addition to vaccines, spay, and regular care until she’s healed.

TORI, her sister, while not as visibly hurt, is lethargic, vomiting unknown substances, and getting a thorough check up at the vet. We will need to make sure blood work and bacterial tests are done to ensure her long-term health and safety.

GENTLE BEN has suffered with a broken leg that someone tried to splint with a wooden spoon. In addition to a DIY (Do It Yourself) broken bone splint, he had a DIY dental treatment, consisting of super glue to close a wound in his mouth. In addition to a possible amputation (depending on the extent of his injuries), he will also need immediate dental care and treatment for any other ailments that were unknown to us at time of arrival.

TAF family, this is the reality we are facing: the emails don’t stop, the urgency of needs never seem to go away, and the cruel ways animals are treated never cease to amaze or disgust us.

We desperately need your help to care for them while they heal. Please consider donating. Even a share of this post will help share their stories, and help us collect much-needed funds while these beautiful creatures are in our care.

We promise to share updates on their healing journeys, and we so appreciate the support from our TAF family and community. ❤️‍🩹
