People who own pets should be particularly concerned about ticks, both for their animals’ sake and for their own.Dogs provide a good indication of a likely exposure of their owners to infected ticks as they may visit the same outdoor areas. Rates of infection in dogs are regarded as “sentinels” of human infection and may be used to monitor infection rates.

Blacklegged "deer" ticks are found in a wide variety of habitat that are suitable for birds, large and small mammals such as mice, deer, squirrel, coyotes and livestock. All life stages can bite humans, but nymphs and adult females are most commonly found on people who are in contact with grass, brush, leaves, logs or pets that have been roaming the outdoors.

Lyme Disease is something very close to our heart. Proper screening and prevention are imperative to controlling Lyme disease and other infections caused by ticks.
Have your pets screened today!

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection primarily transmitted by Ixodes ticks, also known as deer ticks or blacklegged ticks. These tiny arachnids are typically found in wooded and grassy areas. Although people may think of Lyme as an East Coast disease, it is found throughout the United States, as well as in more than sixty other countries.

To Clients & Future Clients,
Our clinic is a walk-in facility and we have recently added the option of scheduled appointments for your convenience. Being a walk-in facility, our staff cannot project how busy each day or hour will be. We see pets for routine healthcare as well as urgent and sick visits. Each pet may require a different amount of time for their visit depending on the case.

Our DVM staffing has decreased over the past few years. We have certain days that we have one doctor and some days two doctors available. Our Doctors and Staff work diligently to serve our clients and provide the best of care to our patients. We do apologize for longer wait times. Please consider that with warmer weather we do tend to see busier days then in the winter. But to better serve you, we do suggest to schedule an appointment to lessen your wait. Some days we even have same day appointments still available but we will also accept walk-in patients up to 1 hour before we close.

We are asking for patience and respect for our staff. Harassment, Foul Language and Disrespect will not be tolerated in our clinic.

Thank you to everyone that has been kind and patient, we greatly appreciate you!

Sincerely,
Your Friends @ Tri County Animal Clinic

Dr Josh will be out of the office today due to a family obligation. Dr Lakita will be in seeing patients. This will lead to longer wait times.

Our Story

Tri County Animal Clinic is a local veterinary office that serves the tri-state area. It was opened in 1996 by Dr. Mark Ratliff and his wife Tina Roberts Ratliff. He currently practices along with Dr. Tim Roberts and Dr. Josh Blair. TCAC is primarily a small animal clinic. It offers many services: exams, vaccinations, surgery, boarding, laser therapy, laser surgery, digital radiology, dental care, routine lab work, nutritional consultation, allergy testing, limited grooming services and a large variety of parasite control products. Most small animal services are offered as a walk-in service. Surgery and grooming do require appointments. We accept cash, check, credit/debit cards and Care Credit as form of payment.
