We work with veterinarians, physical rehabilitation professionals, mobility-aid companies and others.

Giving the gift of mobility to special needs animals through physical therapy and rehabilitation, providing them with a better quality of life and helping them to find furever homes. The Two Hands Four Paws Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing a high quality of life, specifically improved mobility, to small animals that might otherwise not have the means or access to recei

ve it. Our Foundation is made up of animal lovers whose passion is small-animal mobility and the heightened quality of life it provides. Our directors have years of experience in diverse areas of animal-specific care. The Two Hands Four Paws Foundation was established as a way to formalize what had been ad-hoc fundraising efforts and personal donations that could not come close to supporting all of the needy dogs, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs, etc. that came through the doors of our animal rehabilitation center. Being an organization with Federal tax-exempt status allows us to increase our visibility and help animals that otherwise might have no chance at moving on their own again. The Foundation was incorporated in 2016 and is located in Los Angeles, California.

We have a difficult update on Dibs. 💔

He went in for follow-up X-rays this morning, and we learned that one of the screws from his surgery has come out. This can happen with puppies because their bones are still soft and growing, but it means he needs another procedure.

The surgery will cost approximately $3,500.

Of course, we are moving forward because this gives Dibs the best chance at a normal, happy life—but we desperately need donations to make it possible.

Meet Patty 💕

Patty is about 4½ months old and came to us through the abuse and neglect case we have been working on. Her beginning was heartbreaking, but you would never know it from the joyful, affectionate and ridiculously goofy puppy she is today.

Patty loves other dogs and would happily spend her day playing with a canine sibling, but she is also perfectly content entertaining herself with bones, stuffies and puzzles. Once playtime is over, her favorite place is snoozing on the couch.

She is incredibly smart, food-motivated and eager to learn. Patty already knows sit, down, paw and recall, and she is working on practicing those skills in new environments. She is easy to manage on leash, loves a good “sniffari” and can keep up with her foster brother on walks.

Patty is mostly house-trained, sleeps through the night without accidents and can comfortably spend four to five hours in her crate during the day. She thrives with structure and is continuing to build confidence with crate training. She has shown absolutely no resource guarding or aggression—just plenty of sass, sweetness and puppy energy.

Patty is looking for a family who will give her the consistency, playtime and love she should have had from the very beginning. In return, you will get one very clever, very entertaining and deeply lovable best friend.

9 weeks old. 💔

That’s all Dibs has known, yet he’s already survived more pain than any puppy ever should.

Found as a stray in Rialto and covered in ticks, Dibs was brought straight to our veterinary team. X-rays confirmed our worst fear—a severe leg fracture, likely from being hit by a car.

On Monday, he’ll undergo specialized orthopedic surgery. After that comes weeks of crate rest, medications, follow-up appointments, and rehabilitation.

The incredible part? Dibs hasn’t let any of this steal his spirit. He still wags his tail, rolls over for belly rubs, and showers everyone with puppy kisses.

We’re determined to give this sweet boy the life he deserves, but we can’t do it without your help. Every donation goes directly toward his surgery and recovery.

Last week, after learning that had been burglarized, the Two Hands Four Paws Foundation stepped in to donate much-needed supplies to help support their team and patients during an incredibly difficult time.

In the middle of the shock and heartbreak of seeing the condition of the hospital firsthand, we completely forgot to take photos of the donations themselves. But we did manage to snap this sweet moment of our founder as a small reminder of a much bigger act of community, compassion, and showing up for one another when it matters most.

Veterinary teams dedicate their lives to caring for animals, often under immense pressure and with limited resources. Seeing a fellow animal care facility violated in this way was devastating. We are proud to stand beside the people who work tirelessly to help animals every single day. 🤍

GOKU UPDATE!!

Dear Friends,

Because of you — and especially because of his incredible foster mom — Goku is doing GREAT. Not long ago, we were fighting just to save his life. Today, he’s up, walking, and even galloping. Watching him move again after everything he’s been through is nothing short of incredible. And his personality? It’s fully back.

Goku has discovered the joys of tennis balls, chewy bones, and stuffed animals, and he takes his toy collection very seriously. His days are now filled with playing, exploring, and slowly rebuilding the strength that surgery and recovery took from him. This is the outcome we all hoped for. But the reality behind saving dogs like Goku is hard.

His care has cost nearly $50,000. So far, we’ve raised just over $5,000.

We made the decision to move forward with his life-saving treatment because that’s what we do — we step in when animals have no other option. But if we want to keep saying yes to dogs like Goku, we need our community to step up with us. Today is Goku’s surgery day.

After a one-day delay to complete a critical CT scan and finalize the safest plan, Goku is going into surgery today. His surgical team will be stabilizing his spine and removing as much of the spinal compression as possible, giving him his best chance to stand, walk, and live without pain.

Because Goku also has von Willebrand’s disease, his neurologist and critical care team have prepared extensively — with plasma, medications, and contingency plans in place — to give him the safest possible outcome.

While he is under anesthesia, Goku will also be neutered so he doesn’t ever have to be put under again.

The hard truth:
Surgery alone is close to $25,000 — and that doesn’t include the intensive aftercare he will need.

Goku was once discarded when his body failed him. Today, he is surrounded by skilled hands, love, and hope — because of you.

Goku needs us. Right now.

Goku was pulled from a Southern California shelter because he could no longer stand or walk on his own. What we’ve learned since then is devastating—but it also gives us a path forward.

An MRI has confirmed Wobbler’s disease, with severe spinal compression at C5–C6 and C6–C7—both chronic and newly worsening. This likely progressed over the past six weeks and may be why Goku was dumped. We’ll never know.

What we do know: surgery is his best chance to walk again.

Goku also tested positive for von Willebrand’s disease, with a level of 35 (the lower the number, the higher the bleeding risk). Because of this, his neurologist is working closely with a criticalist to prepare for surgery with plasma and desmopressin on board, ready for anything.

Right now, Goku is resting in a foster home—wrapped in blankets, gentle hands, and love he’s likely never known—while we prepare for what comes next.

The hard truth:
Surgery alone will be close to $25,000—and that doesn’t include aftercare.

We are doing everything possible to give Goku the safest path forward and the best chance at a normal, well-loved life. But we cannot do this without help.

Goku's Fight to Stand Again

On January 18, 2026, a Doberman named Goku walked—or rather, was carried—out of a Southern California shelter.

He didn’t leave because he was “ready for adoption.”
He left because he couldn’t stay another day.

Goku was found as a stray and brought into the shelter unable to walk on his own. Over the following days, his condition worsened. He showed severe neurological deficits—knuckling in his hind legs, crossing his limbs when supported, loss of a**l tone, and profound instability. At times, he couldn’t rise at all.

Despite this, one thing never wavered:

Goku is gentle. Present. Sweet.

Staff and medical professionals repeatedly noted how calm and loving he was—even while being lifted, supported, examined, and moved. He ate eagerly. He interacted. He responded. Mentally, he was fully there.

Physically, his body was failing him.

Shelter records and veterinary evaluations raised serious concern for cervical spinal disease, including suspected Wobbler Syndrome, a condition Dobermans are tragically predisposed to. Radiographs confirmed neurological compromise requiring advanced care far beyond what a shelter—or an average adopter—can provide.

The final note from the shelter was blunt:
“Dog needs to be removed from shelter environment immediately.”
So we did.

On January 18, Goku was pulled directly from the shelter and rushed to VEG Emergency in Costa Mesa. From there, due to the severity and complexity of his neurological condition, he was transferred to the Veterinary Neurology Center in Tustin, where he is now under the care of specialists.

This is not a “wait and see” situation.

Neurological conditions like Goku’s are time-sensitive. Every day matters. Advanced imaging, diagnostics, specialist consultations, and potential surgical or long-term medical management come with significant cost—but they also come with hope.

Because here’s the truth:
Goku is not a hospice dog.
He is not giving up.
And we are not giving up on him.

Dobermans with cervical spinal disease can do well when diagnosed and treated appropriately. But intervention takes resources, and right now, Goku needs all of us.
