“Family doesn’t always share your DNA…
but they may be the ones holding your hand when it matters most.”
Not everyone’s family is defined by blood.
For many in the LGBTQ+ community, family is chosen—
built through love, trust, and showing up for one another,
again and again.
And at the end of life…
that truth matters deeply.
Because in those final moments,
it’s not about labels or expectations—
it’s about who is there.
Who knows your story.
Who honors your identity.
Who loves you, fully and without question.
That’s why it’s so important that care decisions reflect your wishes—
including who gets to be by your side.
As an end-of-life doula, part of my role is to help ensure
that the right people are present, heard, and included—
so that no one feels unseen or alone in their final chapter.
Because everyone deserves to be surrounded by the people
who truly feel like home. 💛
If you or someone you love is navigating this journey, I’m here to offer compassionate, inclusive support every step of the way.
