What’s the best way to celebrate a milestone? For Bruce C. Friedman, a local animal lover turning 77, and his wife Sandra, the answer was simple: give 77 precious dogs and cats a second chance at life.
We’re delighted to announce the launch of 77 Second Chances, a new initiative made possible by Bruce and Sandra’s founding donation. “We can’t imagine a better way to celebrate my 77th birthday than by helping 77 animals at risk stay with the families that love them,” Bruce said. “I hope our birthday gift inspires others to celebrate the important occasions in their own lives in a similar fashion.”
“Bruce and Sandra’s donation will be directed toward our intervention programs, which provides financial assistance to pet owners needing help with spay/neuter, medical care, food, and supplies. Such assistance, properly directed, can significantly reduce the number of pets surrendered to shelters”, said Lange Foundation Executive Director, Megan Fenner. “And the beauty is that you don’t have to turn 77 to make a meaningful difference. You can turn any special occasion—whether it’s a 5th birthday, a 25th anniversary, a graduation, or a retirement—into a life-enhancing event. Your special occasion may last just one day, but the second chance you provide can bring a lifetime of joy to the fortunate pet and forever family alike.”
