LBHA Loomis Basin Horsemen's Assoc. The Loomis Basin Horsemen’s Association LBHA founded in 1984 is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 dedicated to the trails and preservation of the rural lifestyle.

The Loomis Basin Horsemen's Association was formed in 1984 after developers wanted to cut off trials leading to the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The Loomis Basin has access to some of the best riding and hiking trails in the area. Petitions were sent out and over 400 signatures were returned requesting that the trails not be blocked. A meeting was held at which over 200 interested horsemen a

nd hikers attended. It was decided that an organized group was required to keep trails open and find a location to build an arena where riders, young and old could safely work their horses. By late 1985, the arena was build, with the help of many volunteers. The arena has seen rodeos, horse shows, team penning and any other horse event you can think of. Many local horse groups as well as 4-H groups use the arena throughout the year. Individuals use the arena daily when events are not being held. Use of the Arena is free to the public for individual use. Group use required proof of insurance and a small use and clean up fee. Trainers may utilize the arena by permit for lessons or clinics with proof of insurance.

Thank you Maureen Henderson, our Membership chair who helped check everyone in all morning and sign up new members. We had 38 riders and a dozen plus new members!

Please help set up if you can, 8:30 am
Event 9:00 am -11:00 am
Cleanup at 11:00

Free event for LBHA members
For insurance purposes, all participants must be members. This includes anyone in the arena.
Become a member for $15/year ($20 family) and join us for a fun time at the Obstacle Play Day with your equine under saddle or in hand with no pressure. This is not a clinic, obstacles will be available to use at your leisure.

Do NOT hang your bridles, longe lines or any other tack on our arena sprinklers. A martingale was hung on one and the sprinkler could not rotate creating a mess. Our sprinklers are Fragile and repairs are expensive 😫

An informal discussion and sharing of ideas. Bring your favorite trail notes. What's in your saddlebag? Bring your favorite saddle bag or pommel bag and share ideas for what we should be carrying on the trail.
