Black Dragon is a hyper melanistic (all black) color morph of the Asian water monitor (Varanus salvator). Instead of the typical yellow and brown speckled pattern they feature jet black scales caused by an excess of the pigment melanin.

Emerald tree boa (Corallus caninus) is a non venomous arboreal (tree dwelling) snake native to the lowland tropical rainforests of the Amazon Basin in South America.

Physical Characteristics

Color: Adults are bright emerald green with a white or yellow zigzag/diamond dorsal stripe and a cream to yellow belly. Juveniles are born brick red, orange or yellow and change to green around 4 to 12 months of age.

Size: Typically measure 4 to 6 feet (1.2 to 1.8 meters) as adults, though some can reach up to 9 to 10 feet depending on the exact variant species like the Amazon Basin emerald tree boa or Corallus batesii.

Anatomy: Known for unusually long front teeth (capture fangs) for a non venomous snake, deep thermal sensing pits along the jaw to detect warm blooded prey in the dark and a strong prehensile tail.

Green anaconda (Eunectes murinus) is the heaviest and most massive snake species on Earth native to the swamps, marshes, and slow moving rivers of tropical South America.

Physical Characteristics

Size and Weight: While some pythons grow longer the green anaconda is unmatched in overall bulk and weight. Females are much larger than males, frequently reaching lengths of 20 to 30 feet (6 to 9 meters) and weighing up to 550 pounds (227 kg) or more.

Appearance: They feature olive green skin patterned with dark rounded or oval blotches to blend into murky water. Their eyes and nostrils are positioned on top of their heads so they can see and breathe while nearly fully submerged.
