Lola’s family took her into the ER vet and were told that to save her it would be $5,000 and if they didn’t have that they should euthanize her so she wouldn’t suffer. But this is a story of hero’s and people that didn’t know this family who stepped into help. Someone in the vet hospital told the family about a low cost spay and neuter vet hospital – a very good vet hospital. The entire family arrived with Lola to hospital / Fix Long Beach. Sherri Stankewitz , one of the partners and another one of Lola’s heros, sent me this photo of Lola. She said the family had just came in with all the cash that they could round up. There, the operation was only going to be $1,500 to save her but they were still short. Sherri said the family loved this little girl very much and that she was special to their autistic son. I told Diane Levy about Lola and her story. That’s where Diane and all of you that supported Sohpie’s Gift and Take A Licking became this little girls hero. Without hesitation, Diane called in the $600 more that was needed for her operation.
Thank goodness for such good people and this amazing community with such big hearts. Thank you all for helping to save Lola. May she have many more years with her special boy.
