today Hobo will be leaving her family. her life started as a stray, but for the past 14 years, she’s known nothing but hugs & kisses, soft beds, and a houseful of other “unwanted” dogs like herself. you really couldn’t ask for a better life than Hobo has had.

we put ourselves through such hell when we have to make this decision: “is it too early?” “am i doing the right thing?” “what if I’m wrong?” but i hope that Hobo’s family is sparing themselves this particular Hell. her pain has become too great, but she’s alert, she knows she’s surrounded by love, and she still can carry around the kong that is almost as big as her head.

the time to leave is perfect. the time to leave is now.

sending much dog love from this house to your, guys. we know the others cannot fill the gap, but in their eyes and in the way they stampede through the house on their tiny feet, they will keep Hobo’s memory alive.
