Today we lost one of our own. I’m sure some of you remember Teddy being in the shop from time to time. She crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon after I got home from the shop. She will be missed dearly.

Yesterday was super busy with youth groups so I didn’t get a chance to PUPDATE!

Winston had found his new home! A wonderful family with grand kids who adore him! I just know he will get all the attention he could ever want. 🥳

Winston has had his preliminary home exam. He’s in good condition, skin/eyes/ears/coat all look good. He’s had his bath and nails.
Grooming evaluation: he’s nervous but Ok with the process. With practice I think he will get better very easy. He let me clip his nails with resistance but 0 panic or aggression.
Family eval started: he seems very good with my hubby and my 5 year old running around playing with him. Really wants the other dogs to play with him, submissive when Luna (his mom) corrected his hu***ng behavior. Our doodle snapped at him when he didn’t want to play and Winston steered clear, which is a good sign he takes the hint.

Winston is a lot like his dad, sunny. Very d***y and playful. He’s from our last litter which puts him at 8 months and 2 weeks old. I haven’t received shot records yet, so I may have to have him seen and vaccinated before rehoming. As well as flea treatment and deworming as precaution. He also hasn’t been fixed yet, which is contractual, so that will need to be done.

I’ll be working with him over the next day or so to choose his new home wisely. We have a verity of options in types of homes. I will be contacting perspective owners for meet and greets this week.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! We may not be able to asses Winston until next weekend but we now have a great list of homes considering him. A home will be chosen after a full health and behavioral assessment has been completed.

Meet Winston: Born June 25th, 2025
Due to no fault of his own and some life circumstances, this boy needs a new home. He’s one of our pups and we are reaching out to see if anybody would like to add to their family. If you are interested please reach out to me at 207-620-0943 (FIXED) and we will set up a meet and greet in the shop.
Thank you and please share.

December isn’t harvest season. It’s holding season.

These tomatoes were cored and lightly slit, then frozen whole. No blanching. No peeling. Just enough prep to make the next step easier, then put away when summer was generous and time was not. Most food waste doesn’t come from lack of knowledge. It comes from lack of margin.

Freezing them like this buys time.

When they thaw, the skins slip right off and excess water separates on its own. What’s left is dense, tomato-forward flesh ready for sauce, soup, chili base, or later canning.

This works for paste tomatoes, slicers, and cherries. It also works for end-of-season tomatoes you grabbed cheap because you didn’t want to waste the opportunity. Flavor holds. Acidity doesn’t change. You’re not compromising quality. You’re choosing when the work happens.

They can stay frozen for months. Long enough to get through winter. Long enough to wait until there’s space on the stove and in your head.

Freezing isn’t the final step. It’s a pause button.

Sometimes the most practical preservation choice is the one that lets you come back to it when you actually have the capacity.

That’s not cutting corners.
That’s working with the season you’re in.
