🍂It’s Friday! $5 Friday! Our momma and baby have settled in quarantine and will finally have some time to decompress and for momma to get some much needed groceries! She’s done a good job keeping her baby alive but she’s paid the price for it. She is THIN! Their quarantine cost is $700

Some of our old timers! Little Charlie is well into her late 30’s, John Henry is 27, Hazel is 32 and Tequila is 24. They require multiple feedings through out the day to keep weight on them. If you’d like to donate a bag of feed for them, it would be so helpful! They go through a bag of feed a day! Baby April isn’t such a “baby” anymore! She is 2 year old. April is a reminder that every life matters. We do not support mass bailing from K*** Pens, however we will step in once in a while if we see one that really needs us. April’s momma was dumped at one, blind and pregnant. We intervened immmediately and got them to us. April was born here 6 months later. We lost her beautiful momma last year, thankfully April was integrated into the big herd and has blossomed. She’s not available for adoption, we have some things we are watching as she grows. So for now, she gets to grow up and be a horse ❤️

❤️Remi update!!❤️

Apparently once Remi’s rescuer left court yesterday the matter was not over. Law enforcement and the judge spoke to the 2 owners. The female pled out (guilty!)! The male is still sticking with not guilty 🙄, so that’ll be settled another day. Once it was brought to the judge’s attention that the pending civil case was connected to the criminal case, the civil case was thrown out and Remi’s rescuer has been awarded custody of her! Remi is HOME!

We cannot thank the Law Enforcement for their diligence in this case! Remi is finally safe and getting the love and care she deserves and most of all a family! ❤️

Momma and baby have arrived safely at quarantine!! I literally cried with relief! They are finally safe! Now they can decompress and begin to trust and heal! They are in the best hands! We still have to finish fundraising for their transport $620 and quarantine is another expense. It’s a lot I know, but they are worth it. These two deserve a chance, and needed the insane cycle to STOP! I’ve got some video I’ll post shortly and share with you all! In the meantime, please village, let’s raise these funds for them! 🙏🙏🙏

Baby and momma have been picked up in Texas and headed to quarantine. We were told they are in really bad shape and pretty beat up. Not mention super stressed 😢and wild as the day is long🫣. Their transport is $1300 which we desperately need to raise. I am literally begging for help, these two deserve this chance they’ve been through enough. My heart is breaking. 💔 Please help us get them the care they need.

Quick court update, they pled not guilty to the charges and asked for a public defender and it will now go to a jury trial 😫. Remi was almost 20 lbs underweight, flea infested, double ear infections, massive dental issues ($1,200 in surgery already and more needed) traumitized and abused (it’s on video!) Tomorrow’s court date is the defendent filed against Remi’s rescuer to get her back or $2,000 they want for her (hmmmmm🤔) For now Remi is safe and continues to heal. She went from sick, shut down and suffering to a happy, healthy, loved 3 year old!

Our dream is a reality

As a family we have been working with rescues for almost 10 years, tirelessly devoting our time and resources to save these precious lives. A year and a half ago we moved from S. Florida and bought a small farm in SC for our children, rescued OTTB’s, and various other rescued critters. With the encouragement of close friends we filed for and received our 501c3 status March 2020. Our beloved Hasty Red is our inspiration for saving these precious souls. We met him at the rescue in Florida we volunteered at for many years. Hasty was a horrible abuse case and with the help of many he was removed from his terrible situation and landed at the rescue in Florida where our daughter fell in love with him. Hasty’s gentle spirit touches everyone that meets him.

Nurse mare foals are the most delicate of our rescues. Last year we helped 15 precious babies to safety and new homes! These young babies are unfortunately a by-product of one of the worst practices in the equine industry in which infant foals are taken away from their mothers so that the lactating mare can be used to nurse another foal of higher breeding. These babies are orphaned often days after being born and would be left to pass on without the assistance of rescues like Hasty’s Haven.

Hasty’s Haven is dedicated to saving the lives of horses. yearling and foals that were bound for slaughter, victims of starvation, neglect, abandonment and abuse. To date, Hasty's Haven Inc. has helped many Nurse Mare Foals as well as adult horses using our own funds and small donations from friends.
