🐾 Meet Bear 🐾
Bear is currently looking for his forever home, and I wanted to take a moment to share him with all of you. I recently had the pleasure of meeting and working with Bear and his foster mom, who I know personally and who has done an incredible job helping him build confidence and learn how to navigate the world. Like many dogs, Bear can be a little cautious when meeting new people. However, he warmed up to me surprisingly quickly, and before long we were fast friends. I was able to pet, handle, and interact with him without any issues.
I also had the opportunity to work with Bear and his foster mom during a training session at Lowe's. Bear did a fantastic job listening to commands, staying engaged with his handler, and calmly ignoring the people around him. We even passed another barking dog, and he handled it with ease. It was great to see how well he was able to focus and work through distractions in a busy public environment. While he was here, I also introduced him to some of my own personal dogs so I could see how he responded to unfamiliar dogs. He did fantastic! Not only was he social and appropriate, but he was eager to play and engage with them.
Bear is a sweet boy with a lot of potential, and with the right family willing to give him a little time to settle in, I think he's going to make an amazing companion.

Bear is a 7-month-old, approximately 75 lb Shepherd/Rottweiler mix, and we suspect he may have some Belgian Malinois in him as well. He is an extremely intelligent, loyal, and fun working-breed pup looking for the right home.
Bear is not your average “easy family dog.” He thrives with structure, boundaries, training, and mental stimulation. Because of his intelligence and energy level, he will do best with an active owner who understands working breeds and is committed to continuing his training and giving him a job to do.
He would be an amazing match for someone who enjoys hiking, running, agility, outdoor adventures, training, or other activities where Bear can be included and engaged.
Bear has done well in our home with kids, but due to his size, energy, and puppy excitement, we would recommend a home with older children. He would likely do best with someone experienced with large or working-breed dogs.
He is potty trained, crate trained, and has already learned many basic commands and fun tricks. He is eager to learn, highly food motivated, and bonds deeply with his people. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly loyal and loving.
Bear is still young and will need continued consistency and guidance, but for the right person, he has the potential to be an incredible companion.
