Meet Mr. Cat and Snowy, best friends. Mr. Cat and Snowy came to PPR when they were rescued by Pet lovers in our community. Snowy came in with 5 kittens and they are healthy, happy and adopted. Mr. Cat and Snowy met at Pet Center while in foster care and became best friends, and now they share a kennel enclosure while waiting for their special family.
We have no background information on either Cat, but during their veterinary care, they were diagnosed with a feline immunodeficiency virus , a condition similar to HIV in humans. There is no cure. It is not contagious to humans or other animals but can be spread to other felines through blood if cats are having roughhouse issues. Therefore, they need to be the only cats in the household. Their lifespan expectancy is normal, but they do have a weakened immune system and must be indoor cats. They should be fed a healthy diet and see their veterinarian for scheduled check ups.
Both cats are socialized and enjoy attention-they will need some time to adjust to a new environment and the freedom in a new home. They would do best in home without toddlers and with a family who have time for play and conversations. You can meet the pair at Pet Center on N.E. 1st Terrace in Crystal River during regular store hours-- Monday thru Friday 8 am to 3 pm, or you can call 352-726-4700 to arrange an appointment. A Precious Paws Rescue volunteer will return your call.
THEY ARE A BONDED PAIR, and PPR would like them to be adopted as a pair.
