I made banana pudding the standard way for years and thought I knew what it was supposed to taste like.

Then I made it with cream cheese and condensed milk beaten into the base and understood why some versions taste completely different from others.

Refrigerate it overnight and taste what those two ingredients do to the whole thing by morning.

🍌 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗘 ↓

Beat 8 oz softened cream cheese until smooth. Mix in 1 can sweetened condensed milk. Prepare 2 boxes instant vanilla pudding mix with 3 cups whole milk separately and let set slightly. Fold pudding into cream cheese mixture until combined. Fold in 8 oz whipped topping. Layer vanilla wafers, 4 sliced ripe bananas, and pudding mixture in a large bowl. Repeat layers and top with remaining whipped topping. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
