One of our doctors on their way to work, found a deceased cat. We have the cat here at the clinic. The cat was found on tangent between 8th and 9th street. The cat is grey tabby with white and has a spot in its belly medium to longer hair, right ear is tipped. The cat is also neutered male. Faithful Friends Animal Clinic is currently searching for a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. This is a Full Time position.

The Veterinary Technician/Assistant is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in the care of animals. Duties include:
• Assisting doctors with appointments, surgery, and client education per hospital policy.
• Performing initial evaluation of the pet’s condition and inform doctors regarding nature of visit, and client concerns.
• Obtaining and preparing laboratory samples as requested by the veterinarian, i.e. urine, f***l and ear cytology.
• Restraining animals in a safe, efficient and compassionate manner during examinations and procedures.
• Preparing and set up for surgical procedures while utilizing knowledge of proper sterile field requirements.
• Monitoring recovery of surgery patients and communicate with owners.
• Accurately prepare and dispense medications.
• Monitoring hospitalized pets and performs treatments as directed by the doctor.
• Utilizing hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.

Job Requirements:
• Must have a high school diploma/GED
• Must have animal handling experience
• Must be available to work M-F, including some weekends or holidays.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lb
• Must possess strong and effective communication skills and be able to manage stressful situations.
• Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and sometimes challenging environment.
• Must be dependable; demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Pay: DOE
Benefits: Health insurance, PTO and Roth IRA retirement.

We are excited to announce the addition of a new doctor to our practice! Dr. Reyna Villanueva is a graduate of Oregon State University’s Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a strong clinical interest in soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging. Originally from Scio, Oregon, Dr. Reyna enjoys spending her free time caring for her two orange cats (Kitten and Thor) and a small flock of chickens. Outside of work, she also enjoys playing pickleball, camping, and reading a good book!
