Tomorrow is Southern New Mexico Giving Day!
For those who do not know, this is a one-day viral event in which YOU can help nonprofits and organizations in Southern New Mexico by donating to their cause.
You may be asking yourself why should you donate to SNAP when there are so many other organizations in the area. What makes us unique is that we are the ONLY nonprofit in Dona Ana County that offers spay/neuter vouchers to low-income families to get their dogs and cats fixed for free.
Currently, we have issued over 900 vouchers since the beginning of 2025. This is a record number for us. But this also comes at a cost. Our spay/neuter bills are the highest they have ever been, too. This is why we need your help. Your donation will help us continue to strive to reduce the number of unwanted litters in the Dona Ana County area. Please help us help your pets and make our community stronger together.

You can support the SNAP campaign by visiting https://www.southernnewmexicogivingday.org/organizations/spay-neuter-action-program and donating on April 25th.

As we approach the end of the year, it's important to reflect on our joys and sorrows. This year, we are proud to have written over 2,500 vouchers, providing help to fix more pets than ever before. We also got the opportunity to help pet owners who are homeless. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Schumacher Grant. While we celebrate our efforts in helping people, we also faced a heartbreaking loss with the passing of a dedicated volunteer. She is dearly missed. We remain united in our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of Dona Ana County pets. As we move into the new year we will be making a HUGE announcement that will positively impact our organization and the community as a whole.

Our Story

SNAP has assisted with over 19,000 spays/neuters in Doña Ana County since its inception in 1998, and has been providing low-cost spay/neuter vouchers since 2002 at a cost of over $1,000,000. SNAP is the only organization that assists with lower-cost spay and neuter surgeries for qualifying families in Dona Ana County.
