I've gone back and forth about posting this but here we go!
In the last year, at least two grooming salons have closed in LC. The main reason for this is pricing. Our prices are higher than most small salons in town, less than corporations, and we still struggle monthly. Times are changing and the days of $45 full grooms are a thing of the past! I'm also expected, and do, pay my staff a living wage. That means $21-$25/hour plus tips. Please consider that I am not trying to make as much money as possible, I'm trying to have a financially stable business for me AND my staff. If you're not willing to pay more for grooming, there won't be any more groomers. It's already a dying business, even if you don't know it.
