Mama Long Bean is a stunna!!! Dainty lil lilac blooms that call the plump bees to the yard, singing the praises of the soil, wind, rain, and earth—I’ve been waiting patiently to share these long delights with our farm family and friends.

These green noodles are delicious. Because they’re not true string beans, there’s no reason to snap and destring them. And best of all, a little goes a long way. Just a handful of 10 to 15 beans is enough for a stir fry. Add any combo of carrots, cabbage, maitake mushroom, bok choy… Whoever. Mmmmmm….. I can smell it just thinking about it. You hungry yet??

This is medicine. Sure, it makes food taste great when you cook with it; but, eating a raw clove of garlic can do wonders for a wide range of issues. The common cold, sinus infection, yeast infection, and more. Placing a large cut clove on your ear can help draw out an ear infection. NOTE: NO small slivers that can get lost in your ear please. And don’t do it overnight while you sleep. Dab a cut clove on a pimple.

Was growing these beets for their seeds. Disease struck! So we pulled them up. I think this one wanted to tell me that beets are good for my heart. This one looks like the organ. If you look back, you’ll see another one that looked like a Valentine heart.

Now, I don’t like beets. But the fact that I pulled 2 that were hearts is making me think I might need to choke some down. I like growing beets. I do not like eating them. Guess I better put on my big girl pants and go in.
