Laredo Animal Care Services Laredo Animal Care Services (LACS) is Laredo's only open-admission shelter, providing care for stray animals while promoting responsible pet ownership.

We offer adoptions, field services, cruelty investigations, foster and volunteer opportunities & more. Laredo Animal Care Services (LACS) is the City of Laredo’s municipal, open-admission shelter, serving all 106.8 square miles of our community. We provide temporary housing and veterinary care for stray, unwanted, or homeless animals in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Our services

include animal sheltering, pet adoptions, lost and found, field services, cruelty investigations, pet licensing, volunteer and foster opportunities, and emergency disaster response. LACS is dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, protecting the public by preventing the spread of animal-borne diseases, and educating the community about available animal resources.

Laredo Animal Care Services is urgently looking for loving foster families to help care for young puppies who are too small to stay in the shelter environment.

By fostering, you're giving these puppies a safe place to grow, socialize, and thrive until they're ready for adoption. Whether you can help for a few weeks or longer, your support can truly save lives.

✅ Supplies and support may be provided.
✅ Short-term and long-term fosters are needed.
✅ No previous fostering experience required—just a caring heart!
