The Christmas shopping season has officially begun. Just like you prepare your shopping lists, criminals are also preparing for the increase in opportunities to steal valuables from cars and unsuspecting holiday shoppers. Lock your cars, never leave valuables from cars, keep items out of view. Never leave things of value, like tools, in beds of pick up trucks. Most importantly, always be aware of your surroundings at all times. See something, say something.

As part of its commitment to serve the community on and off duty, the Laredo Police Department is organizing a food donation drive to support the South Texas Food Bank.
Officers, staff and community members can donate canned goods or non-perishable food items starting today through Dec. 15, 2025. Donation bins are placed throughout the department.
One bin is located upstairs in the briefing room for officers and staff, and another bin was placed in the front lobby area for the public. Every item makes a difference. Your donations are appreciated.

🚨Jerry Garza Announces Bid for Webb County Judge

Jerry Garza, former Webb County Commissioner for Precinct 3, has announced that he is running for Webb County Judge.

Garza previously served two terms on the Webb County Commissioners Court, where he focused on health and veterans issues, transportation, and instrumental in the establishment of 311. His entry into the race adds a familiar name to the field, as he has been active in local government and civic affairs for almost two decades.

The Webb County Judge oversees county operations, presides over the Commissioners Court, and plays a key role in shaping policy on issues such as budgeting, transportation, and public safety.

Garza’s announcement marks the beginning of what is expected to be a closely watched race in the upcoming election cycle.
