FWD: 🚨🚨NO MORE VA**NG ALLOWED IN ALL PUBLIC AND ENCLOSED AREAS INCLUDING RESTAURANTS.
As of this past Monday, May 5, Laredo’s “Smoke Free” ordinance now bans electronic ci******es and vapes in all public and enclosed spaces, including restaurants, workplaces and public buildings.
Following a brief education period, enforcement will begin. Individuals caught va**ng in prohibited areas face fines between $50 and $1,000.
Retailers of electronic smoking devices (ESDs) must verify customers’ ages, adhere to new product-placement rules and install “No Vaping” signage featuring a crossed-out e-cigarette icon. Public institutions and private employers are likewise required to update their smoke-free notices.
City health officials say the expanded ban aims to safeguard the community—especially young people—from the risks of ni****ne and other harmful chemicals. “Protecting public health remains our top priority,” a spokesperson for the Laredo Department of Health stated.
The ordinance underscores Laredo’s commitment to reducing to***co and va**ng exposure, creating cleaner air for residents and visitors alike.
