You know that short where the dad held the credit card at the top of the door and said if you can catch this with your forehead you can get a PS5? .........welp this is basically how we ended up with dogs! My daughter wanted a puppy so bad she wouldn't stop pestering Daddy about it. Sooooo knowing that purebred and well raised dogs are min 1500 for my husband said you get the money it then you can have it. Well the money she was earning for camp making bracelets also became dog money. And unbeknownst to us we moved to an area that highly supports kids so she's been selling bracelets left and right. "Dad I have a hundred do you think I'll find a dog cheap that's been raised well and is pure red?" "Nope! You have a long way to go and only 4 mos to do it in" (first I heard about the 4 mos limitation! Man was I relieved!!) Fast forward a few days and several "mom did you list my new bracelets??" questions. We went to our area's local auction for the first time since we've been here and first thing we see are purebred lab puppies raised by hunters and their kids that are NOT entered in the auction but flat $50 😳😮‍💨 "Mommy PLEEEEEEAAAASE??" As she's bouncing up and down like the little black haired girl on Despicable Me who was so excited for the unicorn (looked just like her)...😶....😶‍🌫️ I did a quick scan of the area looking where my husband was bcz I wasn't the one who made this deal. My husband walked over and I left 😂😅. His one goal was to get out of the guy that they weren't purebred... Which my husband is goooood at getting to the bottom of things! And when he retold the story he said "I was eating my words bcz these dogs were definitely purebred!😂" Sooooo my daughter got the yellow lab. Then our oldest got off work and joined us to learn there's one left but get paid tomorrow.... And *I* piped up "you can pay us back"😶🫢what did I just say? Sooooo she got the black lab🤣 Thankfully she has her own place..... although one of the other kids became designated dog sitter while she's at work.
