Such an amazing story!! 💞

Such an amazing story!! 💞

OMG!! OMG!! You all won’t believe this story!!! It’s going to make you smile!! 😀

Earlier this week I get a call from a super nice lady named Linda. She had found a Chinese Crested in Campobello over a week ago. “Rufus” is emiciated, weak, and appears to be a senior. But Rufus is sweet. And slowly Linda brings Rufus back to life with some food and love while looking for Rufus’s owner.

Linda calls me to see if I can help. I’m on a business trip and want Rufus to see a vet asap. Linda is kind enough to take him to get a wellness check and update vaccines. To my surprise, Rufus is already neutered. Thats unusual for a stray. Surely Rufus must have had a home at one time.

So Linda takes Rufus to Twin Oaks vet and to all our surprise, Rufus has a microchip. But truthfully, now a days microchips just lead us to unanswered phone calls and unwanted dogs. But guess what….this time the phone WAS answered AND Rufus did have a home! And get this….

Rufus, who is actually Ace, was LOST 10 years AGO after a house fire! 10 years ago!!! And Bethany, Ace’s, Mom only lives a town over from where Ace was found!! Can you believe it?

We will never ever know where Ace has been living for the past 10 years. We will never know his full story. But we are thrilled with this happy ending. I can count on one hand where a stray that entered SBM was reunited with their owner. We ALWAYS check for lost dog postings and we ALWAYS check for microchips because we never know if someone is looking for a dog. In today’s climate of unwanted dogs and so so many strays it’s beyond refreshing to get a reunion like this! Little nuggets of happy stories keep us believing!

Thank you to Linda for being an amazing and kind human and taking Ace in! Bethany, I’m so happy for you and your family AND Ace! And thanks to Twin Oaks for helping us out and facilitating this happy ending!

Yeaaahhhhh!!! Sigh….wouldn’t it be great if every stray had a Bethany looking for them! 🥺

Check posts later today for our Adoptable dogs coming to Landrum Farmer’s Market on Saturday!! 🐶

Luckily a little sedation later, Dr. Hauser was able to get the piece of stick unwedged from between her teeth!

She was also pretty cute waking up 😍
