Ruff Patches

Ruff Patches NOTE: The address listed is our mailing address. We do not have a physical building as we are an all foster home organization. East and Ave R every Saturday. .

Ruff Patches is an all volunteer-run animal welfare and advocacy organization. Ruff Patches is dedicated to keeping pets in homes! We provide food to low income pet owners, provide behavior support and veterinary support when we have the funds. Of course, we also rescue homeless animals and find them new, loving homes. We hold adoptions at Petsmart at 47th St.

Tiny jobs they take very seriously:

Keeping beds warm.
Supervising breakfast.
Inspecting blankets.
Monitoring human morale.
Reminding us why we do this.

Some of the animals at Ruff Patches are adoptable. Others are forever residents who need long-term safety, care, and a place where they can simply be themselves.

And honestly? They may be doing tiny jobs, but they fill this house with a whole lot of love.

Tiny jobs. Big hearts.

Drag Bingo is coming back, and honestly, what better way to celebrate Pride Month than with bingo, drag, prizes, community, and helping rescue animals? 🐾🎉

Join Ruff Patches on **June 9 at 7 PM** at **Hamburger Mary’s WeHo** for a night of fabulous chaos benefiting the animals in our care.

We’ll have bingo, laughs, prizes, and a very exciting auction item: **tickets to the Magic Castle**. Yes, that Magic Castle. So bring your friends, bring your lucky bingo energy, and maybe bring someone who is better at winning things than you are.

Every seat filled helps us raise money for food, litter, cleaning supplies, vet care, medications, and the daily work of keeping rescue animals safe, loved, and cared for.

When your cat suddenly starts acting weird, it’s easy to think:

❓️“Why are you doing this?”❓️

But cats rarely change behavior for no reason.

A sudden change can be a sign of stress, pain, illness, fear, or conflict. It could be something obvious, like a new pet, a schedule change, construction noise, or a closed-off favorite space. Or it could be something harder to see, like pain, nausea, urinary issues, tension with another animal, or feeling unsafe. 😿

Before assuming your cat is being “bad,” start with a few questions:

What changed?
What hurts?
Why now?

Cats are always communicating. Sometimes we have to listen differently.❤️

⚕️If the change is sudden, severe, or involves food, water, litter box habits, hiding, aggression, or distress, call your veterinarian. Medical issues can show up as behavior changes.

We regret to inform you that Andy’s 10th birthday was yesterday. 🎂🎉

This administrative error has been noted.

Andy has requested compensation in the form of treats, attention, compliments, and possibly a formal apology. 🎁

Andy came to Ruff Patches as a kitten with his mom, Charity, and his siblings. Ten years later, he is still here, still deeply loved, and still making sure everyone knows when he requires something.

Happy belated 10th birthday, Andy. You are ridiculous, wonderful, and very loved.❤️

Snuffle mats are not just for dogs.

Watson would like everyone to know that enrichment is very serious work, especially when snacks are involved.

Snuffle mats give cats a chance to sniff, search, forage, and problem-solve, which helps turn treat time into a little brain workout.

Watson is available for adoption and would be happy to personally inspect the snack options in your home.

Every gift becomes care. ❤️

At Ruff Patches, donations do more than cover “stuff.” They help keep bowls full, spaces clean, medications on hand, vet care possible, and animals safe while they wait for homes or live with us permanently.

Some gifts become food.
Some become litter.
Some become medicine.
Some become clean bedding, full bellies, safer spaces, and comfort on hard days.

And every single one matters.

If you’d like to help, you can send supplies through our Chewy or Amazon wish lists, or make a donation through our website.

We can also accept donations by Zelle, PayPal, or Venmo.

Thank you for helping us turn donations into daily care for the animals who depend on us.

Meet Jean Grey & Bereet: two sisters, two vibes, one forever home. 🩷

Jean Grey is curious, playful, and always interested in what’s happening.

Bereet is more cautious at first, but once she feels safe, she is sweet, cuddly, and very serious about cozy blanket life.

These bonded sisters have been together their whole lives. They were found living in a garage, where they raised their kittens together before coming to Ruff Patches.

Now their kittens have grown, and it’s Jean Grey and Bereet’s turn to find a loving home of their own.

They need to be adopted together.

Adopt the sisters. Keep the love story together.

Things our forever residents consider emergencies🚨:

A meal was 3 minutes late.
Someone stole her favorite bed.
A door was closed.
The treat selection was unacceptable.

Obviously, this is a very difficult life.

Thankfully, the animals who call Ruff Patches home are safe enough, loved enough, and comfortable enough to be this dramatic.

And we love that for them.

The council has reviewed the evidence.

They will not be taking questions at this time.

The charges cannot be disclosed, but they may include being late with dinner, moving a blanket without permission, sneezing too loudly, buying the wrong treats, or simply existing in a way they found personally disappointing.

Please use this difficult moment for personal growth.
