🐾☀️ HEATWAVE PSA: KEEP YOUR BOXERS SAFE! ☀️🐾

🚨 IT’S HOT AS HECK OUT THERE AND YOUR DOG CAN’T TELL YOU WHEN IT’S TOO MUCH! 🚨

With this heatwave, please keep your pets, especially Boxers, safely at home and out of the heat. Boxers can overheat quickly, and heatstroke can become life-threatening in a very short amount of time.

🐾 PLEASE: 🙏 🙏🙏

* 🏠 Keep your dog indoors in air conditioning whenever possible.
* 🌡️ Avoid walks and exercise during the hottest parts of the day.
* 🐾 Remember that pavement can burn sensitive paw pads.
* 💧 Provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
* 🚗 NEVER leave your dog in a parked car — not even for a few minutes.
* 🌅 If you must walk, go early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler.

⚠️ Heavy panting, excessive drooling, weakness, vomiting, confusion, stumbling, or collapse can be signs of heatstroke. If you suspect heatstroke, seek veterinary emergency care immediately.

❤️ A hot day at home is boring. Heatstroke can be deadly.

Keep those Boxers cool, safe and inside!
🐶❄️ Their only job today is to stay cool and be couch potatoes! ❤️

🤎🤍Courtesy Post 🤎🤍

This is a courtesy post for Kahale (who is obviously not boxer, but rather Doberman husky.) One of our amazing volunteers has personally taken him on to get him healthy for adoption. This poor boy has been waiting for a forever home for over a year. So we need a great family for this sweet boy.

Introducing Kahale - Hawaiian for “refuge”.

My foster mom found me on the streets of Pittsburgh, emaciated, cold, hungry, desperate and with an embedded collar. She rushed me to the vet and luckily I found her just in time that my collar hadn’t gotten too deep. The good Dr cleaned me up, and used some surgical super glue to stitch up my wound.
I was taken to this warm safe place called home to sleep, met a fur sister I get to play with and given lots of groceries to get my weight back to normal.
I love what my foster mom named me! KAHALE … it means “home” or “refuge” ! I have found my refuge while I recovered but I am praying I can find my forever home soon!

I’m great with kids, I get along with other dogs, (cats, not so much) and love to go on hikes. I love to cuddle and can be a bed hog!
I am approximately 5 years old, already neutered and up to date on my vaccines. I AM READY!
Did I mention I am a Dobe-Sky? ( Doberman x Husky)
