We got to play with these two fun dogs this afternoon. Scotty and Fiona want to remind everyone that it is July 1st and that you want to protect your furry family members from fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Their mom gave me the photo because they were much crazier when I was there and we could not get a photo of them being still.

And the results:
50% collie
26% border collie
8% sheltie
8% Australian cattle dog
3% Pomeranian
3% dachshund
2% Australian shepherd
1% miniature American shepherd

I don’t do the math, this was the way they reported things. Guessing several were rounded up so that threw an extra 1% in there.

When I saw the results, I thought, “man that’s a lot of herding abilities in there”.

Let’s play a fun game of “what breeds do you think I am?” Meet Laddie. He’s a 2 year old mix that my clients adopted. We just got the test results from his Genetic Health Analysis DNA test. This test screened him for 267 conditions that we have genetic markers for. His DNA shows 4 main breeds (One breed is 50%, one is 26% and two are 8% each of his genetic makeup) and 4 minor breeds (the minor breeds make up 3% or less each of his make up). What are your guesses? If you guess he’s super cute and super sweet, you would be 100% correct.

This handsome Irish Setter is bringing all the St. Patrick’s Day cheer! Remi joined our oncology team after his local veterinarian, Dr. Kim Gruber, removed an incidental melanoma. Since then, he has been a rockstar through his melanoma vaccine series, always greeting us with a wagging tail and a bright smile!
