🐾 Meet Dallas! 🐾

If you're searching for a loyal companion with a gentle soul, look no further than Dallas. This 3-year-old large mixed breed is as sweet as they come, with a calm, loving personality and a heart big enough for everyone he meets. Dallas loves being close to his people and would thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of affection, companionship, and cozy couch time. He's not looking for much - just a family to love and a place to call home.

Ready to open your heart to a big softie? Dallas is waiting to meet you and start his next chapter.

They’re not just looking for a home - they’re waiting for a heart to choose them!

Boone is hoping today is the day someone finally walks in and sees him - not just as a shelter animal, but as a loyal companion, a comfort on hard days, and a tail-wagging welcome at the door. Boone is a 6-year-old mixed breed with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He is a great leash walker who enjoys getting out for strolls and spending time with people. When he's done exploring, Boone is happiest relaxing on the couch beside his favorite humans. He would thrive the best as the only dog in an adult-only home. We encourage you to stop by Animal Services during open hours this week to meet your new best friend, Boone!

Who knows? Today’s student could be tomorrow’s animal hero!

Sumter County Animal Services had a tail-wagging good time meeting local high school students at today’s career fair! From learning about animal care and shelter operations to what it takes to protect pets and support our community, students got a closer look at life in Animal Services.

Helping young people explore future careers is something we care deeply about, especially when it means inspiring the next generation of animal lovers right here in Sumter County. There’s truly something extra special about seeing local students grow up and choose careers that allow them to care for the animals and people in the community they call home. Maybe one day, we’ll be welcoming some familiar faces back to the team!

Thanks to all the students who stopped by to say hello and learn more about what we do every day for the animals of Sumter County!

May is National Pet Month! When you open up your home to an animal, you’re creating space to experience more joy and love. Emma is a 4-year-old mixed breed with an affectionate personality and a fun, playful side. She enjoys spending time with her people, whether that means playing, going for walks, or settling in for a cozy cuddle session. Emma thrives best as the only dog in the home. She loves a calm, adult-only environment where she can relax, feel secure, and soak up all her owner’s attention herself. If you're ready for a loyal companion who will love you wholeheartedly, Emma might be your perfect match. Stop by Animal Services during open hours this week to learn more about the adoption process.
