Mimi has been complaining for WEEKS now that she needs a vacation on a beach with a frosty pina colada. There's one thing you don't want, and that's an angry 23 pound cat, so we've decided to give the cats some time off to work on their tans.
Black Cat Beanery will be open for normal business hours through Sunday, September 7th, then our Summer Break will run from 9/8 through 9/16!

We will have limited open hours during the Break :
Tuesday September 9th from 12pm-4pm
Saturday September 13th from 12pm-4pm

You might want to reserve those soon if you want to visit that week! We resume normal hours on Wednesday September 17th ⛱️

Adoption #173 was Mr. Jax! It's not a surprise he was the first from his litter to get adopted, he was Mr. Charisma from the second he walked in to the Beanery. This lovely family is the perfect forever home for him, and the girls love his energy ❤️

We still have a handful of tickets left for Paint & Purrs next Saturday, August 23rd. These are one of our most popular events : you spend 90 minutes with the Beanery kitties, receive professional art instruction and all the supplies you need, and leave with your own cat-sterpiece of a painting! Yes, Pawsitive Stretch is back for another yoga session at the Beanery, and this time around, mimosas, champagne, and wine will be available for purchase to benefit Black Cat Society!

Yes, this is the second time we've posted this, the artificial image in the first ad went overr about as well as getting a cat in a carrier. To make it up to our fans, we're GIVING AWAY TWO TICKETS to this event! Adoption #172 was Sugar! Unfortunately, the adoption didn't work out and she was brought back to us. We tell our adopters that our catd ALWAYS have a home here if the situation at their new home does not work out.
The good news is, this adorable tiny 4 month old kitten is once again available for you to adopt! She is currently having the time of her life in the Cat Room with her brother Spice. Come on in and say hi to Ms. Sugar this weekend!

Adoption #171 was Buster! He was found as a stray right here in Lake Orion, dirty and injured but extremely friendly. His rescuer fell in love with him immediately (he got his name from "busting" into their life), but couldn't keep him. Pawsitive Cause got him all fixed up from his cuts and scrapes, and he was ready to go home. This lovely couple fell in love with his outgoing personality and aggressive headbutts, and had to have him. We're thrilled that now they do 😊

Everyone, meet Steven.

Steven is ridiculously pretty. All night long, when it's just cats in the Beanery, he makes his rounds gently swaying his fluffy puffy tail to and fro. He likes to sleep in the hexagons on the wall and just let that tail hang out front - which, to be honest, I totally would if I had a tail like that.

The only bummer is that he's as shy as he is pretty. Most of the time you'll find him under the couch in the Cat Room waiting for nightfall to reclaim his kingdom. The good news is he's SLOWLY coming out every now and then. He won't leave if you pet him, and he can be swayed with Churu.

He's available and willing to become the king of YOUR castle. Come on by to the Beanery this weekend and say hi to Mr. Steven!

Adoptions #169 and #170 were Chucky and Tommy! Anyone who has been to Beanery recently knows that these guys were long-term residents who loved people but also loved each other ❤️ Thet weren't bonded, technically, but we were ECSTATIC that they got to go home together, and to the perfect family to boot! They've settled in immediately and have even stepped up their brother-snuggling game [bonus photo included]

Adoption #168 was Snow! Yes, Snow, again. For the third time 😂 Snowy might have been the first kitty to record the infamous Beanery Hat Trick of being adopted three times, but we are thrilled to report that she is THRIVING in this lovely family's home, and she is not coming back, ever. Her adopting family took great care to ensure she would fit into their home and be embraced by their cats, and it's been a perfect transition. She's finally home ❤️

If you've never experienced the powerful healing energy of Reiki, this is a great chance to try it out while benefiting Black Cat Society!
On this night we will practice "Reiki For a Claws", with eight sessions of 15 minutes available for booking between 6pm and 8pm.
A single pass priced at $25 gets you a sample Reiki session (normally priced at $120/hr) for 15 minutes, and an hour of time in the Cat Room at the Beanery! The practitioner, Kathleen, has generously donated her time so that all proceeds will directly benefit Black Cat Society.
Spaces are limited, so book now! This event is limited to adults 18 and over.

Adoption #167 was April! If this adorable little girl looks familiar, it's because the same family adopted Noseyt ( #165) and thought she could use a friend from the Beanery. April started her life as a barn cat, and now she's living the most luxe of cat lives with a great family. ❤️
