Over the weekend, Fancy took a big step toward her forever family, she went into foster! 💕 After her knee surgery, this sweet lady needed a cozy place to continue healing, and she wasted no time making herself right at home. 🛋️🐾

Her foster family is already spoiling her with the comfort and love she deserves, giving her the perfect environment to rest, recover, and show off her sweet personality. 💖

We’re so excited for Fancy as she continues this part of her journey… and soon, she’ll be ready to start looking for her forever family! Stay tuned for when this lovely girl becomes available for adoption! 🌸

We just heard from Klaus and his family, and it’s hard to believe it’s already been six months and a day since he found his perfect match. 🥰

From birthday parties and dog park adventures to traveling the open road like a true trucking pup 🚛🐾, Klaus has been soaking up all the love (especially from his grandbabies 💕) and living his best life. His family says it was definitely meant to be — and we couldn’t agree more! 💛

Our Mission: is to find loving homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs… to spay/neuter our rescued dogs to stop the cycle of unwanted litters… to assist in public education for the betterment of our local animal community… Maintain the highest standards of care for our dogs, including general and extensive veterinary care, assist with one-on-one training & behavioral needs… Provide housing, love, tenderness and compassion all dogs deserve. Truly giving them ‘A home along the way’, for as long as they need.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is recognized federally as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose primary goal; is to place homeless dogs into loving, lifelong homes. Mackenzie’s is funded solely by private donations and fundraisers and does not receive any state, local or federal funding. Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is Michigan’s largest no-kill facility dedicated to providing ‘A home along the way’ for dogs in transition, founded in August of 1999. **Please note that our facility is not open to the public and all visits to the sanctuary are by appointment only.
