I stand there trying to make sense of the way my dog suddenly locks onto empty corners like he’s solving mysteries I can’t even see, and every time I question it I end up feeling like the confused one in the room, because the way he pauses, tilts his head, and then looks back at me makes me wonder if I’m missing something obvious about his world that he fully believes is real, and I just end up standing there half amused and half convinced I’ve been dismissed from a conversation I didn’t even know I was part of, like he has his own logic and I’m just the background character in it, silently waiting for answers that never come but somehow still feeling entertained by the whole performance
