📢 Not all reactivity is the same.

Bolt was laying there, minding his own business…
Then suddenly, this big dog rushes straight into his personal space.

Bolt gave multiple “I’m not comfortable” signals.
And when those were ignored, he clearly said, “back up.”

That reaction?
👉Completely fair.

Not all reactivity is bad—sometimes it’s just communication. Dogs speak through body language long before they escalate.

The real issue here wasn’t Bolt…
It was the dog (and owner) who ignored boundaries.

🚫 Don’t be that person.

Just because your dog is friendly doesn’t mean they should run up to every dog they see.
That’s not social… it’s rude.

✅ Ask for permission
✅ Respect space
✅ Advocate for your dog

Even the friendliest dog can overwhelm another when they rush in uninvited.

Now flip the perspective…

How would *you* feel if a stranger ran up into your bubble and wouldn’t back off?

🐾 You think you’re protecting them…

Never leaving them with strangers, always keeping them close… because you don’t want them to feel abandoned. 💔

But what if I told you that stepping outside of their comfort zone is actually the BEST thing that’s ever happened to them? ✨

Dogs are naturally social creatures — they *need* new experiences, new people, new environments to grow.
When we give them that opportunity, something incredible happens…

🐕They build confidence

🌏They learn how to navigate the world

💫They stop seeing “new” as scary… and start seeing it as exciting

Whether it’s daycare, boarding, or being cared for by someone new — they’re not being abandoned.
They’re learning LIFE SKILLS.

They’re discovering that the world is bigger than just us…
and that they’re capable of thriving in it. 💛

And the result?
A calmer, happier, more confident dog who can handle anything life throws their way. 🐾✨

Training a reactive dog can be emotionally draining at times, especially when progress feels slow or inconsistent. It's important to remember that reactivity is often rooted in fear, stress, or uncertainty, not stubbornness or disobedience.
Your dog does not need perfection from you! They need someone willing to advocate for them, help them feel safe, and continue showing up through every stage of the process.

Love me a double training session, staring Weezy as the ultimate distraction/testing dog 🙌

Pepper & Remy are in their final week of training, so it's proofing time! How well can they maintain obedience around varying levels of distractions?

I think they did pretty darn well.

Some mistakes were had, but they responded correctly and promptly to the ecollar when needed, that's all we could ask for.

April’s Pack Walk was such a good time! 🐾

We got in a great walk, worked on obedience around each other, and wrapped it up with some fun agility.

Some pups had a tough start, others discovered a new love for it—but every single one had a blast!

🐾 Mother’s Day, dog‑trainer style: socializing pups and building better choices 💐

Remy & Pepper had their very first encounter (safely staged for training), and wow—what a learning experience!

✨ Remy jumped in eager to make friends

✨ Pepper tried the “attack first” option (no damage), and Remy mirrored

✨✨ Both quickly learned that reacting isn’t the answer—but calm, polite coexistence is

Plenty more practice ahead for these girls, but this was a BIG breakthrough moment. 🙌
