What a busy weekend! On Friday, we saw a post on Facebook from the Elgin Township Community Center that their Senior Citizen pet food pantry was in dire need of dry dog food or they would have to severely limit the amounts that they could provide to their seniors. Well, thanks to the generosity of our students and landlord I had about 700 lbs just laying around so Agility Junkies answered the call that day with about 200 lbs of dry food. I will say, Elgin takes care of its own. When I got there the once empty closet was full after only three days. Our donation insured it would stay that way through the Holidays. That afternoon the Crystal Lake Food pantry responded to my email letting me know that they do accept pet food and they only distribute pet food that is donated. They, in fact, had NO pet food and would welcome our donation. This morning we provided almost 300 pounds of dog and cat food to our own community pantry! To say I am proud of my group is an understatement. I am blessed that I get to be with such amazing and generous people every week of my life!
