Distribution continues with a little help from my friends! We donated approximatly 200 pounds of dog and cat food to the Schaumburg Food Pantry for the Holidays. Thanks to Evelyn and her husband for making the delivery. And a special thanks to Irene for submitting our community effort to the Daily Herald! We’re up to seven suburbs now with one more to go!

Today, with a little fabulous help, the Junkies donated approximately 300 pounds of pet food to the Anderson Humane Society pet food pantry and approximately 200 pounds to the Palatine Township food pantry! Special thanks to Dave Powell who drove out to help me load the van and to Faye who delivered to Palatine!

What a busy weekend! On Friday, we saw a post on Facebook from the Elgin Township Community Center that their Senior Citizen pet food pantry was in dire need of dry dog food or they would have to severely limit the amounts that they could provide to their seniors. Well, thanks to the generosity of our students and landlord I had about 700 lbs just laying around so Agility Junkies answered the call that day with about 200 lbs of dry food. I will say, Elgin takes care of its own. When I got there the once empty closet was full after only three days. Our donation insured it would stay that way through the Holidays. That afternoon the Crystal Lake Food pantry responded to my email letting me know that they do accept pet food and they only distribute pet food that is donated. They, in fact, had NO pet food and would welcome our donation. This morning we provided almost 300 pounds of dog and cat food to our own community pantry! To say I am proud of my group is an understatement. I am blessed that I get to be with such amazing and generous people every week of my life!

Our food drive collected about 900 pounds of dog and cat food, so far. On Monday we donated 100 dollars worth of food to the C.A.R.E. Pet food pantry which supports families in the Evanston, Morton Grove and Niles suburbs. Today we delivered almost 300 pounds of dog and cat food to FISH (Friends In Service Here) in McHenry. FISH supports anyone in need. Next week we fulfill our promise to Anderson Humane Society pet food pantry which supports the Elgin area and Almost Home pet food pantry which supports Schaumburg.
The purpose of my post is twofold. I want to thank our students, their friends and family and our landlord Gabrielle for their generosity. Secondly, I would like to encourage the other clubs and trainers who follow us to take up the cause.
Sharing our good fortune is a simple thing. The reaction to my calls has been overwhelming, people need pet food right now. We can help.

This is heartbreaking, spread the word and get Bam Bam home. Hey everyone, I came across this GoFundMe for a guy named Angel who's searching for his stolen service dog, Bam Bam. It really struck a chord with me, and I think we can all help out, either by donating or just sharing the post. Let’s do what we can! https://www.gofundme.com/f/bambamchi
