Shelley Trumbly, Executive Director, founded Solid Ground Equine Assisted Activities & Therapy Center in September 2016. Solid Ground strives to enhance the quality of life of individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional or behavioral disabilities by providing them with therapeutic horseback riding and associated activities. Last day of County School camp for the 4th graders!! We had an absolute blast! Today we had fun with Emily and her exotic animals! Another fun day at camp! We are sad to see the week coming to a close, but we have had an amazing time!! Today they switched over from western to english saddles, learned two-point, a jumping course, the digestive system, hoof print art work and so much more!! Truly a fantastic group!

Today was another great day with the 4th graders!! We adapted, adjusted and overcame the smoke by moving into the classroom! The students viewed their water sample findings through the microscope, and was still able to milk the goat!! A fun day!

Working around the ranch is so much better with friends!! These kids actually ASK to do chores, Lol. Spent the day riding horses, learning the basic barrel race and pole bending course, played a fun parts of the horse relay race, and way too much fun stuff to list! New friends, smiles, laughter and fun. Can’t wait for tomorrow.

What better way to learn about nature than in the outdoor classroom of nature itself!! Today the 4th graders learned about Ecosystems and Native Species by taking a walk down to the river. The students collected water samples to study and saw lots of animals, plants, birds and insects along the way. Then we had the honor of listening and interacting with a presentation on Bees and their habitat! Who knew education could be so fun!!

Last horse camp week of 2025! We have been so blessed this season with the best kids, parents, staff, volunteers and of course the horses! We also had a special guest today for equine science , April Watkins, teaching all about hooves! It may have been a hot day but the sun hid behind the cloud long enough to get our riding done and back to the cool classroom. Thank you for a great day!!

Klamath Tribe wellness event! Such a beautiful day, and fantastic event. Special guest Glenda Lehrman brought her face painting and artistic skills to life, amazing nurses doing vital sign checks, calming and therapeutic activities with horses and goats, and a ride on the mighty Bucky for balance, and core strength building and ended with a very tasty lunch.
