As we all know, our dog park runs on an all volunteer effort. And our membership fees are the only income we have. The membership fees cover the cost of all upkeep needed to maintain and run the park.
Financially, it has been a difficult year. The board has decided that we need to increase our membership fees for 2023, to keep pace with the rising cost of materials and labor.
The cost of membership registration for 2023 will increase by $5.00. Kingston residents: $25.00 a year.
Non-residents: $30.00 a year. Additional dogs will remain at $5.00 each. Up to three dogs per household.
All registration forms, brochures and the website have been update to reflect the new membership fees.
Thank you everyone.

Hello Park Smokers:
We have added two new boxes to hold cigarette butts. One is on the outside of the fence (parking lot) and one is across from the shelter (above the toy box). We have purchased and placed these in order to decrease the number of butts that are found in the park and especially in the parking lot. Ni****ne can be poison to dogs and thus we do not want them on the ground. A huge thank you to our members who already field strip their butts/extinguish them appropriately.

Just a friendly reminder that no food is allowed in the park. Not for human or canine consumption. Even this writer (Sue Clarke), the treat lady is gonna leave her dog treats at home.

Hello Dog Park Community!
It seems that "our" barking has been bothering the neighbors again.
Please make every effort to encourage your dog(s) to be quiet/bark less. I do know it's a dog park and I do know that dogs bark when playing.
We have received several complaints recently and it's important that we make an attempt to decrease the "noise".
Let's be good neighbors so as to remain in the good graces of the community. Thank you!

A number of people have asked about the formation and function of the Board at the Kingston Dog Park. Bobbie Whitcomb was one of the original founders of the park and was responsible for the daily running of the park since it’s conception up to the beginning of 2017. In January of 2017 she met with Bob Bennett to discuss options for decreasing her role in the daily work required at the park. It was decided at that time to set up a Park Board so that work could be divided between a small group of people. Bobbie and Bob put together a list of park members to call to see if they would like to serve on the board. The group first met on April 25, 2017 at the Kingston Public Library; Bobbie was appointed to be a permanent member. Since that time the board has met three or four times a year. The members on the board suggest new names for people to serve when needed. It is based on the demonstration of the person to work on behalf of the park and ability to work with people. The board deals with insurance, dog fights/human problems, maintenance, fun park activities, brochures and an array of ongoing items.

Our annual Halloween party for members and their owners will be held on Saturday October 24th from 10 a.m.-noon. The rain date will be the next day, Sunday October 25th. Feel free to dress your dog up in a costume. We are down playing the celebration this year with the dreaded virus and not wanting to have the park get too crowded. Thanks in advance.
