Howdy,

Palomino Pines Guest Ranch and Horse Company is looking for an Assistant Ranch Manager. We are coming into our busy summer season and our team is growing!

We are looking for an individual who has a strong background in anything and everything property maintenance with some large animal experience as well. The main role of this individual will be to operate heavy machines, transport 5th wheel trailers, use chainsaws, perform snow removal, create new and repair existing fencing, muck stalls, feed the herd and more. This individual will be maintaining that day in and day out needs of the property.

Aside from overseeing the daily needs of the ranch this individual will be assisting in our horse operations as well. Knowing how to tack a horse, identify dangerous situations and assist with medication needs is required. This person needs to be able to ride up to 8 hours in the saddle a day during the summer. We are able to provide further training if needed. Our trails and horses are extremely user friendly and our tack room is beyond organized making for a very user friendly experience.

Looking for local or Midwestern applicants. Someone that has been raised on country living and understands “country hours”. Someone that understands the highs and lows and Midwestern weather. Someone that has been around large animals for years and doesn’t get shaken up. Someone who has a solid equine knowledge but wants to make It great. Someone that sees things through and is self motivated.

This would be a full time “on property” position with housing provided. 5 days paid vacation. $13-15/hr based on experience. Looking for only one individual and hiring immediately.

We wanted to start this post by expressing our deepest appreciation for the support we have received from our community, peers, staff and current boarders. Just over one year ago we started with 18 empty stalls and are now down to just TWO openings.

Our family feels blessed to be trusted with these amazing animals. We purchased this property to care for horses to the best of our abilities and share this lifestyle with others. With horse loving people roaming the property all hours of the day, it really makes the ranch come to life!

We pride ourselves in providing top of the line amenities for both the horses and their owners. Here at Palomino Pines we provide anything and everything western riding. Yet, boarders of all disciplines are here and welcome to continue joining. We can't wait for what the future holds. Please come join our ranch family today.

Today doesn't just mark a milestone in our hearts being the first Valentine's Day as a married couple and the last as "just us two" with a baby on the way in June. It also marks a milestone in our home being it is our one year anniversary!

We are beyond appreciative for how well the community has embraced us over these last 12 months. Without our amazing staff and countless kind visitors from the Wisconsin area and beyond, none if this would have been possible. It has not come without its challenges and long days but all of that has been wrapped in blessings. This is simply too much property for just two people to enjoy (soon 3) so seeing it buzz with new faces and fellow horse owners warms our hearts. That is why this property exists. To bring joy to those that love the outdoors and of course...horses!

In 2024 we didn't just meet our expectations but we were able to surpass them. That same energy will be carried into 2025 with new trails, new horses and new riding disciplines offered. We can not wait to see what 2025 has in store for us. Hope to see y'all out at the ranch this year!

We simply have too many horses eating hay for "free". Therefore, we have a select few at the moment listed to SELL. Please note that all prices are our absolute best and non-negotiable. All of these horses will be re-listed in the beginning of May to their previous pricing granted we will literally be able to afford to play hardball and get what they are worth come spring season. Dale- $5,5🥕🥕
3 YR Old 15HH Brabant/Quarter Horse Draft Cross Gelding: Dale is as in your pocket as they come. Halter broke and started on the lung line. Has been an extremely easy start and has a fantastic mind and confirmation. If you're not familiar with Brabants, please research them. They are a very sought after Belgium draft breed. Known for their large bone structure making them easy keepers and very hearty. Dale will be ready for trails and even kids with 90 days under the right handler. We have had three of these crosses in our "dude string" over the years and they have all performed perfectly, even for total beginners. I currently own a fully matured red roan gelding of this same cross as my personal mount if you care to see what Dale will mature into.

Penny- $4,5🥕🥕
2 YR Old 14.2HH AQHA/APHA Sorrel Quarter Horse Mare: Penny is started under saddle W/T no issues. When asked for her canter she tends to protest like a typical 2 yr old. Mild crow hopes at best, very easy to sit and not dangerous. She is very safe on the ground, stays off your shoulder and is a very easy catch. She is double registered with western pleasure training and breeding. She is sired by "He's in Formal Attire" and has a negative HYPP making for ready to breed as well. Penny will easy be finished under the right handler in 60 days. Penny would make a great western pleasure horse. Her blood line will really show it those events. She would also make a great brood mare and has a great lineage to build off of. She even takes to trails well and could make good leisure horse for someone.

Domino- $5,5🥕🥕 UPDATE: SOLD!!!
14-16 YR Old 15.2HH Grade Quarter Horse Paint Gelding: Domino was my personal mount for many years and a staff favorite (also pictured in our profile picture because he's so darn handsome). He will put his own face in the halter every time you walk into the pasture, he loves to work. Out of 50 horses on the ranch, Domino is the safest on the ground. He is also built like a brick house. It is hard to tell him apart from my 8 year olds given his build and definition. Domino is just one of those horses that is aging fantastically. He has been there done that with trails, photoshoots, parades, golf courses, falling trees, hunters guns, dogs charging us and more. Domino is more "go" than "whoa" but 100% safe with no rear no buck. Yet, his rider needs to know his speed is there. A simple calf pop and kiss and Domino will hold his canter. For an intermediate rider it is fantastic and makes for an easy ride with little leg needed. Domino will make the perfect trail horse for someone that like to cover ground. A fantastic step up horse for youth that want something safe yet also want the wind in their hair. Or even suitable for an English rider granted he loves his jumps.

1. (SOLD) Domino- 16yr old grade quarter horse paint gelding standing 15.3HH. Great on trails. Kids safe on the ground. Excels in barrels and other timed events. Very easy catch/keeper.

2. (SOLD) Porkchop- 15 yr old grade quarter horse sorrel gelding standing 15HH. Porkchop if a turn key kid/beginner horse. He has been in our trail lineup for 5 years now and is a crowd favorite. Anyone can ride this horse.

3. Jimmy- 8 yr old grade quarter horse bay gelding standing 15HH. Jimmy is very athletic and ideal for more demanding trail riding or ranch work. Very soft in the mouth and willing to go to work all day.

4. Roscoe- 12 yr old grade quarter horse bay gelding standing 16.1HH. Roscoe is a been there done that trail horse. He has a nice large build ideal for the bigger rider or someone looking for their next pony horse and doesn't want to get pulled around.

5. TUX- Tux is something special! 2 yr old AQHA/APHA/PtHA paint gelding. This talented gelding is already winning, with a total earnings of $2,700 in 2024. He was Reserve Champion Non-Pro Western Longe Line at The Premier Sires. Tux has a great attitude and very bright future ahead of him.

6. Chuck- 20 yr old grade quarter horse sorrel gelding standing 16HH. Chuck is another been there done that trail horse. He will let anyone ride him and has a nice large build to him which works well for those bigger riders. Chuck would be great for any kid/beginner or someone that wants something trust worthy on trail.

7. Dale- 3 yr old grade brabant/quarter horse cross black gelding standing 15.2. Dale is extremely well minded. His draft cross is known for thick durable bones and a very docile temperament. He have had three of these same crosses in our dude ranch line up all working under age 5 and they have done fantastic. Dale is halter broke and respectful on the ground. Eager to be caught and has been an easy start overall so far.

8. (SOLD) Kai- 8 yr old titled mustang bae mare standing 14.3HH. Kia is from Nevada HMA and has been used in intermediate lessons and trail riding. Kia has a great foundation and ready to go in any direction. She is best suited for trail riding or ranch work.

9. (SOLD) Sam- 4 yr old grade quarter horse bay gelding standing 15HH. For only being 4 years old Sam has impressed us all. Comfortable with both lessons and trail rides he is very versatile. Sam is safe on the ground and has only started his career and able to go in any direction.

We have great horses up for sale!

Pork Chop: Kids/Husband Horse Deluxe.
Some people here probably know him by name...he is a 15HH, 16 yr old quarter horse sorrel gelding. Pork Chop is straight out of our dude string line up. He has been here for 6 years now and has always been one of the best horses we've owner for beginners and larger statured riders given his stocky build. We are looking for a quality new home for Pork Chop simply due to his age. He has not slowed down and has zero lameness. Yet, with us riding our dude string of horses anywhere from 30-40 hours a week, this is a young horses game. With that many trail hours off property, our horses have seen it ALL. Our horses deal with traffic, dogs, chickens, semi trucks, four wheelers, bikers, guns, wild turkey, wild deer and more. Attached is a video of him coming back from trail ride with the snow and ice this week (studded front shoes) and you can see he is in his element with our tourists. We are rotating in new and younger horses for our 2025 season therefore making Pork Chop available. Asking $7,5🥕🥕

Domino: Intermediate Trail Horse/Barrels/Timed Events Horse.
He is a 15.3HH, 14 yr old quarter horse paint gelding. Out of the 50 horses we have on property, Domino is the safest on the ground. His manners and eagerness to go to work are his claim to fame. Yet, he is happiest with the wind in his hair! If we didn't ride with beginners for a living, Domino would not be up for sale. He is forward and has a healthy stride to him on trail so the constant stopping to help guests is not where he fits best. Domino has been started on barrels and timed jumps and has excelled quickly in both. As he stands he would compete barrels at a D3/D4 level and schooling jumper at .8 meters. Asking $7,5🥕🥕
