Who remembers Dakota? This beautiful girl was rescued by us a year ago after a kind reporter reached out. She was in heartbreaking condition—covered in infected wounds and sitting in a dirty puddle.

Just look at her now!! 🫶🫶

Dakota is glowing, healthy, and happier than ever. She’s no less than any purebred dog—graceful, loving, and full of life. She’s truly living her best life at The Pawsitive.

They don’t need words to touch your soul. Their eyes speak volumes, their hearts are whole.In every wag and gentle cuddle 😍✨

All these dogs are unable to walk because of road accidents. We have over 60 paralyzed dogs, but our caring physiotherapists are working hard to improve their lives. They give massages and acupuncture, hoping these furry babies will walk again one day.

GRAPHIC ⚠️ Sabar is only a few months old, and the poor thing had a horrible train accident that cut her jaw in half. She is unable to eat or drink, but we are doing everything in our power to save her.

I was living with my dog family close to rail track happily

One day, my sibling and I miscalculated and we were hit by a train

My brother died on the spot but I was wounded

I laid there for 4 days and no one noticed me or checked me to see if I was alive

One kind hearted person bothered to check me but by that time, all the maggots were eating me up slowly

They made my wounds so big in 4 days that I could not feel my jaw, mouth or snout

All I could taste in my mouth was maggots, that too tons of it

My leg was badly injured too so I couldn’t walk or move myself

I was so much in pain but no one helped me

One kind hearted person drove me to Pawsitive with a hope that they will help me

I am grateful that Pawsitive uncle removed my maggots and gave me the treatment right away

After 3 days of fluid therapy, I felt better and started to take liquids

UPDATE ON THE TRAIN INCIDENT THAT ALMOST GOT A PET DOG KILLED DUE TO HIS OWNER NEGLIGENCE

A video went viral, showing a man trying to get his dog onto a moving train. The dog slipped and fell, causing concern among viewers.

Good news!!! The dog is safe and unharmed !!

NDTV and Times of India also reported the dog's safety. A tweet mentioned the same, but the most reliable news came from Indian Express.

According to their report, the dog survived and is now back with its family. The man and the dog got off at Jhansi, and when the train started moving, he got scared. Thankfully, the train was stopped in time, and the family and the dog were reunited.

The reckless behavior of the dog owner is absolutely unacceptable, but we are relieved that the dog is saved and unhurt.

We hope that the owner learned a big lesson and won't jeopardize his dog's life again.

But we believe stricter laws are needed to discourage such behavior and prevent animal cruelty !!

Meet Mama, a female dog who faced a dire situation when she couldn’t deliver her pups. Tragically, one was stuck inside, and without immediate help, her life was at risk. Her caretaker acted quickly, bringing her to us. where their surgeon stepped in on a Sunday to perform the necessary surgery. Sadly, four pups didn’t survive, but we’re relieved that two are alive and thriving.

Mama has now been sterilized, and we are incredibly grateful to for their free sterilization program. It’s crucial to consider sterilizing dogs in your community—timely intervention can truly save lives.

Just look at how beautifully she cares for her remaining puppies ❤️🫶🐶

*UPDATE* Heidy’s surgery was successful, and she has given birth to three kittens!!!

After enduring a harsh life as a stray and the trauma of her accident, she is still in shock but starting to embrace motherhood. Unfortunately, she’s producing less milk, so we’re bottle-feeding her babies. While her appetite is low, we’re doing everything we can to provide her with comfort and love. Please continue to send your support for Heidy —she truly needs it. Thank you for being there for her during this challenging time.

Who remembers Rehari?

We rescued her in June 2023, and she was in terrible condition—hundreds of maggots crawling on her eyes, fully paralyzed, and screaming in pain, awaiting her fate. Through our dedication and care, along with her incredible will to survive, just look at her today! It’s a true miracle: Rehari is no longer paralyzed and is now a happy member of our sanctuary. This is the transformative power of love.

The journey of the Pawsitive Sanctuary began with Amita Seth, the founder who was born in Amritsar, Punjab, and now resides permanently in Canada. In 2019, during her visit to India, she was deeply saddened by the condition of stray dogs, which affected her greatly as a dog mom herself. Witnessing the pitiful condition of stray dogs in Amritsar, she felt compelled to take action. Amita's unwavering courage, determination, and resiliencehave been instrumental in the establishment of Pawsitive Sanctuary. Despite numerous challenges, her journey continues. Starting from a small shelter, it has now grown into a vast safe haven, catering to over 250 dogs, including those who are paralyzed, disabled, blind, and sick. pawsitivesanctuary

It's a beautiful home to 250 plus street dogs. Till date 47 stray dogs from the street of Amritsar got adopted into Canada, 7 into the US And 2 in UK.

Who remembers Mallika?

In 2022, she was rescued from Patiala by my incredible friend . At that time, Mallika was paralyzed and severely malnourished, fighting for her life.

Fast forward to today, and she has blossomed into the queen of Pawsitive Sanctuary! Her transformation is a testament to the healing power of love and care.

Let’s send some love and positive vibes to Mallika—she truly deserves it!

Update on Little Snoopy 🐾
We’re thrilled to share that Snoopy’s leg has fully healed! When she first came to us, she was wandering the streets, struggling to find food, and her legs were at risk of severe infection. Despite this difficult start, her determination to recover has been nothing short of inspiring, even though her walk is still a bit wobbly.

However, we urgently need your help. Snoopy cannot survive on the streets, and without a forever home, she’ll remain in our care for the foreseeable future.

We believe that sterilization is crucial to managing the stray population, but our primary focus right now is finding Snoopy a loving adopter. If you or someone you know can provide a safe and caring environment for her, please step forward. Let’s work together to give Snoopy the happy life she deserves🫶💕

Zorro is a senior labrador dog who was found abandoned on a pile of trash. 💔 Zorro's story is one of cruelty and neglect - discarded like an object, left to fend for himself by those who were supposed to care for him. 😪

A kind family found Zorro and reported us about him. He was a mere shadow of a dog, his skin and bones barely holding him up, flies swarming around his emaciated body. He couldn't even lift his face. We brought him in, and we began his treatment immediately.

Zorro's condition is very critical; his health is deteriorating. Sadly, he seems to have lost all hope. His hollow eyes speak volumes about his struggles and agony. According to his latest prognosis, his hemoglobin levels are very low he will need a blood transfusion. But as of now, we are trying to stabilize him.

This kind of cruelty and neglect make us question how anyone could look into the eyes of their dog and not feel an ounce of compassion and love for them. How can someone welcome a pet into their home, only to abandon them without a second thought?? 😢

As we fight to save Zorro, we ask you to hold him in your thoughts, send him love, and let his story be a reminder that every living being deserves kindness, care, and love.

Having a pet is a lifelong commitment. If you are not willing to be a part of your pet's journey, through thick and thin, for the next 10–15 years, then do not get one.

Bumble’s Update:

We are happy to share that Bumble has made a remarkable recovery! After suffering significant injuries from an attack by other strays, including a large wound on his thigh, he has now healed completely and is in excellent health.
