🇮🇳 80 years of independence. 80 years of freedom, rights, and dignity for us.

But today, as we wave our flags and celebrate, I can't stop thinking about the ones who never got a say in any of it. The strays who flinch when a hand comes near, not knowing if it's kindness or a stone. The ones chased off the only patch of land they ever knew because we decided we needed it more. The ones who live every single day in fear not of enemies, not of invaders, but of us.

We built monuments to freedom and forgot that freedom was never meant to be a one-species club. We talk about coexistence like it's a favor we're doing them, when really, it's the bare minimum we owe them.

An animal's right to live shouldn't depend on how useful, cute, or convenient they are to us. Their right to safety shouldn't end where our comfort begins. Their right to a home shouldn't be erased every time we want to build one more building.

So today, while we celebrate 80 years of independence, let's also ask ourselves when do we start giving freedom to those who never asked us for anything except to be left alone, fed, and safe?

Real independence isn't complete until every living being gets to feel it. 🐾

🇮🇳🐾 Freedom Has No Limits ❤️
This Independence Day, we celebrate not just the freedom of our nation, but also the freedom of every innocent soul who deserves a chance to live, love, and be happy. ❤️
Some of our babies lost their ability to walk, some carry scars from accidents, and some were once forgotten on the streets… but their spirits were never broken. 🐾
With love, care, and support, they found their second chance — running on wheels, playing, smiling, and enjoying the beautiful gift of life. ❤️‍🩹
Whether they are Indies, breed dogs, differently-abled, or survivors of cruelty… every heartbeat matters. Every life deserves dignity, kindness, and freedom. 🇮🇳🐶
This Independence Day, let’s promise to be kinder to the voiceless souls who share this country with us. ❤️🐾

💔🐾 Meet Benny… a soul who deserved a chance.
Every day, countless innocent animals lose their lives on the streets after accidents.

Many suffer silently, and only a few are lucky enough to receive help.Although we usually rescue animals from Amritsar, Benny’s story reached us from Batala. The kind people who found him directly reached out to us, hoping we could give this helpless boy the care he needed.
Benny had suffered a severe accident and was left completely paralyzed. His rescuers tried their best, took him to local doctors, but unfortunately, no NGO was ready to take him in because of his condition.
When we heard Benny’s story, we couldn’t say no.

The very next day, we got his X-rays done, and they confirmed a spinal injury. This means Benny will most likely live with paralysis for the rest of his life, and the chances of him walking again are extremely low. 💔
But every life matters. ❤️

Benny may not be able to walk, but he still deserves love, care, and dignity. We will continue his therapy, supplements, and treatment to give him the best life possible.

You can virtually adopt a rescued baby for just $30 INR3000 per month and support their food, medicines, and care. ❤️🐾

He was crushed while sleeping on the streets 💔

A few days ago, The Great Amritsar shared a plea for help for an injured street dog. Our followers tagged us, and the very next morning, we went looking for him.

We found him in unimaginable pain; his body covered in ticks, both legs badly injured, and one leg crushed into pieces.

He was simply sleeping on the streets when he was hit. No one knows exactly what happened, but the damage is devastating. One of his legs may have to be amputated.

We brought him to safety because he deserved a chance — not to be left alone to die on the streets.

Now, his fight begins. 🐾❤️
Surgery, treatment, recovery… he needs us more than ever.

We named him Gulmohar. Please keep him in your prayers and help us give this broken boy a second chance at life.

Meet Einstein:

He came to us carrying more pain than any innocent soul should ever have to endure. He was reported to Raahat - A Hope For Strays Foundation who not only searched him for days but provided him first aid too while everyone around him ignored.

One eye had popped out.
One leg was broken.
His other eye has a cataract.
And yet, somehow, he was still fighting to live.

We named him Einstein because we want his story to be about more than the cruelty he suffered. We want it to be about intelligence, courage, resilience and the incredible will to survive.

But now, Einstein needs surgery, medical care, and most importantly, a chance to finally know what it feels like to be safe and loved.

He has suffered enough.
Now it’s his turn to heal. ❤️‍🩹

Please keep Einstein in your prayers and help us give him the life he should have had all along.

No more pain. No more fear. Just love. 🐾❤️

🆘 Idli Needs Urgent Surgery Tomorrow 🆘

💔🐾 Meet Idli… a little girl who survived a terrible accident.A video of this tiny girl reached our helpline. We were told that she had been badly injured in an accident and was hiding helplessly in the bushes.

Someone kind had tried to feed her, but she was all alone—no family, no siblings, and no one to care for her. We knew we couldn’t leave her there, so we brought her to our shelter.

Once she arrived, we discovered that the accident had happened several days ago, and the delay in treatment had led to a serious complication—a traumatic hernia with severe swelling in her abdomen.

Idli’s hernia is not just a simple swelling. Because of the accident, her abdominal wall has been damaged, allowing internal tissues or organs to push through the weakened area. If the trapped tissue loses its blood supply or an internal organ becomes damaged, it can become life-threatening. 💔

After consulting our veterinarian, we were told that Idli urgently needs surgery, and her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.

🙏 We are raising $100 / ₹6,800 for Idli’s surgery. Even the smallest contribution can help us get her the urgent treatment she needs.
Once she recovers, we will look for a loving forever home for her, because she can never be sent back to the streets again. ❤️‍🩹
Please support Idli in any way you can. Your donation, no matter how small, can help save this little girl’s life. 🐾
And please, drive carefully. One moment of carelessness on the road can leave an innocent life fighting for survival. Please slow down. Please be kind. Please let them live. ❤️🐾

💔🐾 Meet Ragi… a mother who lost everything.

As many of you know, the monsoon season brings a heartbreaking rise in maggot wound cases. Every day, we receive desperate calls about animals suffering in unbearable pain.

Recently, our helpline received a call about a mother dog with a large, infected wound on her neck. She was in immense pain, struggling to survive. The caller also told us that she had two puppies and pleaded with us to rescue them as well, saying their mother would never leave them behind.

The moment we saw Ragi’s condition, we knew she desperately needed immediate medical care. Without treatment, her wound could have become life-threatening.

We rescued her the very same day.But when our team reached the location, we were met with another heartbreaking reality...
All of her puppies had already died. 💔

It is impossible to imagine what this mother had been through. While fighting a painful, infected wound herself, she had also lost every one of her babies. A mother’s grief is the same, whether human or animal.

She is now safe at our shelter, where her treatment has begun. Her wound has been thoroughly cleaned, and she has started antibiotics, pain management, and daily dressings. It will take a few weeks for her to recover completely.

Once she is healthy enough, we will also sterilize Ragi, so she never has to go through the pain of repeated pregnancies or lose another litter again.

🙏 If Ragi’s story touched your heart, please help us give her a new beginning. Your support for her treatment, medicines, food, and recovery can make all the difference.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings her one step closer to healing—and reminds her that she is no longer alone. ❤️🐾

💔 Tiny Kachori Needs Your Help 💔

Meet Kachori — just 2 months old.
Instead of discovering the world with playful puppy steps, someone crushed her tiny front leg into pieces. The pain she’s enduring is unimaginable, yet she still looks at us with trusting eyes.

Kachori now needs emergency, life-saving surgery to save her leg and give her the chance to grow up without constant pain.

We can’t do it alone.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings Kachori one step closer to surgery and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please share her story. That simple act could help save her life.

🐾 Please help us give this innocent baby the future she deserves.

Our Paralysed Babies. ❤️🐾

This is a small glimpse of our paralysed section, where some of our most special babies spend their days.
Despite everything they’ve been through, they are now safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love. Each one has a cozy bed, a clean space, and the care they deserve.
Their caretaker, Vikram, looks after them with immense love and dedication every single day. The bond they share with him is truly heartwarming—they trust him, wait for him, and find comfort in his presence.

Watching these babies feel safe after surviving so much pain reminds us why we never give up on them.

Every single day is dedicated to making their lives as comfortable and dignified as possible.
This is where you can make a difference.

If even one person chooses to virtually adopt one of our rescued dogs, it can completely change that dog’s life while they are in our care.

You may not be able to take them home physically, but you can become their family by supporting them financially through our Virtual Adoption Program. Your monthly contribution helps cover their food, medicines, bedding, and daily care.

Please consider virtually adopting one of our special babies. Together, we can give them the love, comfort, and second chance they truly deserve.

If you’re unable to adopt, please share their story. Your support, in any form, helps us continue giving these beautiful souls the life they deserve. ❤️🐾🙏
