My true love passed away on Friday. We are all mourning her loss. For those that can make it here is the funeral information:

Denise Kay (Foster) Chenoweth , 71, of Kevil, KY, passed away on May 15, 2026. Born in Galesburg, IL on January 14, 1955, Denise dedicated her life to family, faith, and service for others.

A Registered Nurse for 34 years at Illini Hospital in Silvis, IL, Denise cared for countless patients with the same kindness and quiet strength that defined her life. Deeply faithful and devoted to Jesus, she was known for putting others before herself and for the gentle warmth she brought into every room.

Denise’s great love and passion was her family. She is survived by her true love and beloved husband of 42 years, Ron Chenoweth (Kevil, Ky); her sister, Connie Clague (Galesburg, IL), her son, Jeremy Chenoweth (Murray, Ky) and daughter-in-law, Cerissa; her daughter, Casey Jackson (College Grove, TN) and son-in-law Mike; her son, Colton Chenoweth (Eldridge, IA) and daughter-in-law Breyana. She was grandmother to Emily (29), Kylie (24), Carter (9), Jacob (9), Calvin (7), Wyatt (6), and Bradley (5), and great-grandmother to Colson (1) and Grayson (5 months).

An avid gardener, devoted horsewoman, and tough cowgirl, Denise also cherished her Vizslas and the time she spent outdoors. Her steady faith, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

We are all familiar with a Pointing Dog Field Trial but, do you know what other Field Trials are all about!?

Retriever - focus on evaluating a dog's proficiency in marking and retrieving downed birds, both on land and in water. Dogs are also evaluated on their memory, handling, perseverance, and ability to navigate complex obstacles during a retrieve.

Spaniel - test the dog's game finding ability, “hard” flushing, and retrieving ability in dense cover. Dogs are evaluated on their drive, hunting pattern and control, and cooperation with the handler. The objective is to simulate authentic hunting conditions where the dog must locate and flush game within gun range, then retrieve the downed bird promptly.

Hound - designed to assess a dog's tracking, trailing, and treeing abilities, depending on breed and competition. Dogs are evaluated on their scenting ability, endurance, and voice. These trials may involve tracking a live trail with judges observing the dog's accuracy and determination in following the trail.

Terrier - test the natural instincts and hunting abilities of terriers bred to pursue quarry underground. These trials evaluate a dog’s courage, determination, and problem-solving skills as they navigate tunnels to locate and “work” the quarry, typically safely caged rats.
