I’ve never kept one for 13 weeks and said goodbye before, but I am so thankful that Waffle (now Phineas) found an incredible home with Bob & Lisa Dungan. He is going to live the perfect Berner life in the cold weather near Cleveland, OH - with a first cousin as a brother (from Dutch’s brother and Maggie’s sister) with trails and snow and regular hikes. We are sure going to miss him around the Kevil Zoo!

Thank you to Christina Bartko & Michael Fernandes for opening your home and lives to give Twyla a new home. She’ll have two brother cats and will be a neighbor to Moses from the Scooby Doo litter. Dutch, Waffle, and all of us will miss this sweet girl, but we know she is go to have a great home.

Dutch has probably only gone in the puppy room a half dozen times in two litters, and has never offered to jump in. Last night while I was swapping towels, he jumped in and would not let me work around him. After about 10 extra minutes, I got them fixed. Of course, Twyla, his current shadow jumped in behind him. He is going to miss her!🥺

Twyla leaves this Saturday, and I think Dutch may miss her most. This has been an incredible few weeks, watching Dutch play again in the snow with the others. He has really not played since Annie passed. And, he has never really liked the puppies at all, and he certainly has not played with one like he has Twyla. She was 21 pounds at her 10 week checkup, and she has been worth her weight in gold for bringing life back to her dad.

What a fun day at the Kevil Zoo! Davis, Waffle, & Twyla got to play in their first real snow. First, with supervision, but the little ones got to stay outside with the big dogs for about 2 hours. They enjoyed watching, but the table provided for some good hide & seek. The big dogs played outside and chased and barked for probably 6 hours. First time I have seen Dutch play since his mom, Annie, passed away. We ought to sleep well tonight!

Thankful that Bear (O.J.) is going to live a great life of pampering with two Golden Retriever siblings as Addi’s dog with the Larry Joe Seay family in Graves County where I can visit him ever so often!
