Hi all....it's Delilah or Della for short. For reasons beyond my control, none of my applications have worked out so far. So I am back here still looking for my forever home.

Let me tell you about my cute little self: I am a 1 year old spayed female Shih Tzu mix. I weigh around 10 pounds. I am very sweet, friendly, and playful. I still have lots of puppy in me. Foster Mom is teaching me it's not nice to jump on people or do my puppy nibbles. But I love that stuff! I can be a little mischievous as I like to explore things. So keep those lids on your trash cans! I would do very well with another playful canine sibling. I am p*e pad trained, but will also go outside if you take me regularly. I have lots of energy! I just need a little patience and guidance. Gosh, I sure am cute! 🥰

Like lots of others, I am suffering from seasonal allergies, which makes me cough and sneeze. My doctor said I could take a half of a 25 mg Benadryl 2X daily to help alleviate my symptoms. It has helped a lot.

Did I hear you correctly, Foster Mom? Could you please repeat that?

Sure, Sky. This is the BEST news! We have the results of your biopsy. It was a mammary mass, but it's BENIGN! It is a "mixed mammary adenoma" which has a very low potential for regrowth, and probably won't since it looks like we got it all. And there is virtually no metastatic potential. Yay!

Wow! This really is the best news! I know I keep looking at you in disbelief, but wow! Answered prayers for sure!

Speaking of prayers, PNK and me want to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers, and support during this very trying time. You all are the best and I have no doubt your prayers were heard!

I am so happy! Let's celebrate, Foster Mom.

Hi friends!

We wanted to showcase some of the wonderful items we have for sale in our booth at Unique Treasures & Collectibles located at 505 Nelson St. Kernersville, NC. Local friends if you are out and about, stop by and take a look! There is something for everyone! This venue continues to be an incredible asset to help fund vet care for our incoming dogs who so badly need helping.

We are always needing and accepting donations for the booth, so if you have any items you would like to donate please call/text our fundraising coordinator, Susie, at (860) 377-8746. We would be happy to have them! Susie does an amazing job and we so appreciate all her hard work!

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day 💕

Hi all....its Chip. I hope you haven't forgot about me. Guess what? Now I get to say I have been adopted!

Do you know which one I am? I am the one on the left. Of course that's my wonderful new Mom in the middle plus my older brother, Baxter, on the right. The minute I walked in I made myself right at home and decided I wasn't leaving! Best decision I've ever made!

When I came to PNK I really needed help. I was so miserable I had nearly scratched all my hair out. I would scratch until I cried out in pain. Thank goodness, we identified the issue and the medication has worked wonders. No more scratching! Now I can relax and enjoy the good life. One thing I really love about my new home is someone is there most all the time. I need to be around people. My Mom works from home and my Grandma stays with us too. I love it!

I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. Importantly, many thanks go out to the awesome PNK supporters for helping little guys like me get healthy and find our dream homes!

Well, it's time for one of our evening walks. This is one of my favorite times of the day. I am definitely living my best life.

Well, everybody, I just don't know what to think. I'm sitting here trying to figure it all out while Foster Mom gets the paperwork together for us to go home. I'd rather not visit anymore vets for a while.

Good news is it's all over! I am so happy I was well enough to have everything done today! All we had to do was my spay and microchip. Everything else was completed at the last exam. All went well! I was aged 4 years and weighed in at 10.5 pounds.

My UTI is so much better. No more bloody stool, straining, or p*eing frequently. My antibiotics are really working! Now to recover from my spay and hopefully on to my forever home. I am so ready to just get settled and have my human(s) to love.

I am the sweetest little girl and love all people and children. I am mostly house trained. I will make a perfect lap baby and cuddle bug. Applications can be found at the top of this page and the link will be posted in the comments. I am located in Kernersville, NC.

Time to go home, rest, try to eat and take meds. I hope to see you soon!

Hi all.... you're not going to believe who this is. It's Nyla! Oh my gosh, words cannot describe how much better I feel. I look like a dog again! Jennifer at All Things Dogs really worked her magic this time! What a wonderful job she did! We are so appreciative of her skills.

However, all the news is not good. Foster Mom noticed I had been p*eing a lot, straining at times, plus I had a considerable amount of blood in my stool. Off to the vet I went. I had a complete exam and was diagnosed with a UTI and stress colitis. We did an intestinal parasite screen and that was clear. I have anabiotics plus a probiotic to help calm my tummy down. It has been stressful. I was found in such bad shape, spent time in a loud, scary shelter and even though I did well for my grooming, the amount of matts I had did make it stressful for me. A lot of changes in a short amount of time. I'm trying to keep up.

I am feeling better, so I am hopeful we can still do my spay tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 15th. The doctor said if I improved, it would be OK to do so. I want to be well so I can find my forever home. I will keep everyone posted. I am supposed to rest, so that's exactly what I am going to do.

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 💕

Hi all....it's Pearl. I'm sorry I am a little late with my announcement, but I have been settling in my new home. It's my time to say.... I have been adopted!

It's just my Mom and me and that's kind of the way I wanted it. It's not that I dislike other dogs, I just like all the attention. And this way, I have it! My Mom thinks I may have some doodle in me. Maybe a DoxiePoo or a Doxiedoodle. My personality definitely fits the description all the way down to wanting to be the star of the show! What do y'all think?

Whatever I am, I am very happy in my new home. I love the walks we take together and the naps afterwards! I'm just a simple girl and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Food, attention, and belly rubs! Lots of belly rubs! My mom gives really good ones too!

I want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. As always, many thanks to the amazing PNK supporters for helping this little girl's dream come true!

Hi everyone!

My name is Nyla and I recently joined the PNK family. I am an approximate 1-2 year old female Shih Tzu mix. I weigh around 13 pounds. I was found as a stray, taken to a shelter, and no one came for me.

I am so embarrassed. Just look at me. What a mess. I smell awful and this is AFTER the shelter shaved some of the matts off of my face and legs. Why was I allowed to get this bad? We will be visiting our wonderful friend Jennifer at All Things Dogs very soon!

Despite my appearance, I am so so sweet and love everyone! I never meet a stranger and will plop over for a belly rub. I'm a little unsure of my canine siblings right now. I seem to be mostly house trained. It appears I was trained to use p*e pads but, I will also go outside. Honestly, right now I just want a bath.

My spay, exam, and screenings are scheduled for this Monday, Sept. 15th. Lots to do before then! Updated pics to come!

Hi everyone!

My name is Delilah or Della for short. I am a 1 year old spayed female Shih Tzu mix. I weigh close to 10 pounds. I was found as a stray, taken to a shelter, and no one came for me. Trust me, I did not come to the shelter looking this way. The nice folks at the shelter had me groomed because I was so terribly matted.

PNK has already had me spayed, examined, and screened. All was good! I am a healthy little girl! I am now ready for my forever home.

A little about me: I am young and still have lots of puppy in me. Aren't I cute as a button though? I love to run and play with my toys. House training is going pretty well. I will use a p*e pad but if you take me outside, I will go. I seem a little afraid of my canine siblings, but at the same time I really want to play with them. It's not that I am afraid to be around them, if they approach I back up. I guess that will take some time and getting used to them. I am constant entertainment and sweet. I'm always excited to meet new human friends. But, aren't I cute as a button? I just had to say that again.

Foster Mom, I don't feel so well.

I know Sky, sweetie. You've been through a lot today. Can you tell everybody your report?

Yes, and then I want to go to sleep.

Hi everyone, first my spay went well. I was aged 4 to 5 years and weighed in at 12.9 pounds. My intestinal parasite screen was positive for round and whipworms. I have medication that will get rid of those nasty things.

Now for the biggie....I did have a mammary tumor, which was removed and sent off to be analyzed. We are fairly confident it is benign, but you don't know until you know. Hopefully, we will know in 2 weeks or less. For all my prayer warriors, could you please say a little prayer for me that it is benign? I really want one of those good forever homes like my friends in the past have gotten. I don't want this to prevent me from having one. Yes, I will worry. We will let everyone know as soon as we know.

That's about all I can do, friends. This extra incision is painful and bruised. I'm ready to go home and get in my soft warm bed. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Hi everyone!

My name is Sky and I recently joined the PNK family. My paperwork reads I am a 4 year old female mixed breed. I weigh 11 pounds. My family surrendered me to a shelter because they said they had too many dogs. I didn't understand why I had to go.

I can be timid at first, but it doesn't take long for my sweetness to shine. Foster Mom said I had the prettiest little face. We are working on house training, which is going well. I get along with my canine foster siblings. I am low shedding. I love to take walks and explore my surroundings. I listen well. I will jump at a new noise, but I have settled in nicely. So just give me a little bit of time and I will be a huge snuggle bunny.

💕 Happy, Happy Adoption Day! 💕

Hi all....it's Millie. Guess what happened to me this week? You are right! I got adopted!

What a feeling! All of this is new to me, but I am soaking it up. It's just my Mom and me. But we have lots of friends and visitors. My Mom has a huge support system which is important for my future. It also helps with my socialization I missed out on as a puppy.

We spend our time taking long walks, which I love ( sniff sniff ). But most importantly, we have toys. Lots and lots of toys! The louder they squeak and russle the better. I am so enjoying everything I have missed in life up to this point.

I have left my abusive past behind me. I don't want to think about it or be reminded of it. It really was horrific. Now, I'm in a different place and have a beautiful new beginning. I want to thank some very special people that knew of my abuse and took action. If it wasn't for you, I may very well have been stuck there to live a life of misery. PNK and me are so grateful for people like you. I also want to thank everyone who put in an application for me. I really appreciate you wanting to give me a good home. Importantly, many thanks to our awesome supporters. It is your contributions that helped me see a Vet for the first time ever and get everything I needed to live a healthy life.

I think someone mentioned toys. I don't know which one to choose. I think I'm just going to try them all! Squeak squeak! I love it, just as I am loving life.

Project No Kill Canine Rescue

Project No-Kill Animal Shelter, Inc. is currently a “foster based” organization and rescue group for small breed dogs in the Triad, North Carolina. Our organization seeks to eventually build a no-kill animal sanctuary for neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs in the Kernersville, N.C. area. In addition to providing transitional housing for dogs waiting for a loving home, we also plan to incorporate educational programs and companion animal services to members of our community after the shelter is constructed.

We are currently seeking foster families to help save dogs now while continuing to work towards our goal of building the sanctuary. We are also looking for volunteers to help transport the dogs, to assist at events, and perform other tasks for the organization. Our volunteer and foster applications are available in electronic format (see “About Us”).

As we continue to work towards our goal we have multiple dogs in foster homes waiting for their own loving home. You can see the dogs currently available here: https://www.pnknc.org/adoptable-dogs.html

The adoption application can be found here https://www.pnknc.org/adoption-fostering-and-surrender.html. The final adoption fee is $175.00 which includes, spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, microchip, f***l screening, and any other medical needs necessary before adoption.
