Mares' Nest Farm is looking for the right person to assume barn and farm services with young and fit horses. We need someone with experience because we value safety of people and horses on and off the farm.
* Compensation based on experience (competitive)
* Set you own schedule between 8am - 6pm
* Approximately 3-4 hrs/day
* Preferably 5 days/week (amenable to which days)
Must Have - no exceptions
* age 18 or older, mobile phone
* reliable transportation and able to show up on work days
* ability to lift 50lbs, pick stalls, drive a wheelbarrow short distance
* scrub tubs/buckets, fill with fresh water
* comfortably halter, lead, turnout, blanket horses as necessary
* hold horses for farrier or vet appointments
* refill hay nets, lightly groom horses, pick hooves
* do basic/emergency maintenance (stalls, fence) as cases arise
* follow barn rules and owner directions
Beyond the daily activities, we always have extra tasks on the farm....if there is need for additional hours. We work very hard to provide a good environment for us, the horses and those which provide services to the farm, the farm is our home.
