We're so proud of our pet patient, Atticus! We know the vet can be scary for some pets, including him, and we were so happy to see him relax during his appointment with us. So much so that his tail was wagging and he was climbing over Dr. Krista Seraydar ...he had to make sure he got every last drop of his doggy milkshake 💙 What a brave pup!

Paw pad burns are a preventable summer injury we see too often. Even on mild days, concrete and asphalt can reach dangerous temperatures, which is why it's important to remember that if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.

Quick tips for protecting their paws:
✋ Try the 7-second rule—press your hand or foot to the surface to check temperature
☀️ Avoid the hottest times of the day and walk in the mornings or evenings
🍃 Walk your pet on grassy or cooler surfaces
🥾 Consider dog booties

Our amazing vet tech Amanda dreamed of working with animals since she was a kid and knew she wanted to be a vet from the moment she started working in Vet Med years ago. In her own words: "I'm passionate about pets and making sure the people the pets have at home are educated to know how to take care of them. It is about the pets, but also their companions." For those who share the dream of going to vet school, Amanda wants you to know "If this is your dream, continue it and never give up because it's possible."
