π€ Saturday Spotlight - HONORING THE PAST π€
Rex Purefoy
Modern Legacy β Still Riding
Before there was Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City, there was a little girl with a dream.
That little girl was me.
Before I became a founder, a mentor, or a community leader, I was introduced to the world of horses by a man who understood the importance of preserving Western heritage and sharing it with others.
That man was Rex Purefoy
Rex didn't just introduce me to horsesβhe opened the gate to a lifelong journey that would eventually become Giddy-Up Riders of Kansas City.
The lessons learned in the saddle became lessons for life:
π€ Respect
π΄ Responsibility
π€ Leadership
π± Stewardship
π Perseverance
Years later, those same values are being passed on to our youth, families, and community through the programs we offer today.
The legacy that began with one mentor and one young rider continues to grow through every child who learns to ride, every family we serve, and every life touched by our organization.
Our recent recognition as the 2026 JuneteenthKC Family Legacy Award Winner is a reminder that legacies are not built alone.
They are passed from one generation to the next.
Today we proudly honor Rex Purefoy for helping inspire a journey that continues to impact our community.
"A mentor plants seeds whose harvest may never be fully seen."
