Northridge Farm

Northridge Farm Northridge Farm is a private equine boarding facility established by Nancy Womack in 1988.

Sarah Berkowitz currently operates her business "Bell Mountain Eventing" out of Northridge Farm. Located in the heart of Kansas City, on the site of an old homestead established before the Civil War, Northridge Farm is a tranquil setting that features thirty acres of rolling pastures, cross country fences, an indoor arena and an 80' x 200' outdoor sand arena. The 22 stall barn features two heated/

cooled tack rooms, automatic waterers and mats, hot cold wash rack, a reception area, office, lounge and a viewing area. Northridge Farm was established in 1988 by Nancy Kraus Womack and has been home to many successful horse and rider combinations in Dressage and Combined Training. Sarah Berkowitz, an upper level Eventing Rider and Dressage Bronze Medal recipient, is the head trainer/instructor at Northridge Farm. Dear Friends,

Well, I'm certainly getting older and apparently, I have reached the age where I think it's a fun idea to put together a Northridge Farm Cookbook!

Since we opened in 1988, we have hosted a multitude of events at Northridge Farm and most of them have involved food and drink (sometimes more drink than food). In fact, we have hosted a Northridge Farm Christmas Party every year since we opened as well as anniversary celebrations, birthday parties, baby showers, wedding showers and even afternoon tea.

So....I'm reaching out and asking anyone who has had or has a connection with us to share some of your recipes. If you are not much into cooking, I'm certain you have a special liking for something maybe your Mom made or your Grandma was known for or just something you enjoy that you would like to share.

As to what I mean by 'connection' I mean if you ever boarded here, took lessons here, had a friend here or your Mom knew my Mom or I knew your Mom...that sort of thing. Come to think of it, if you 'like' Northridge Farm, you have a connection. So, don't be shy. Nothing needs to be fancy or complicated. Contact Kacie on this page and she will let you know details.

I plan on writing a few 'stories' to go along with the recipes and make it a bit of a fun history of Northridge Farm in Cookbook format. If you have any photos or stories of your own, share those, too.
Who knows, I might even share the eggnog recipe.
