In Memory of Lucy Engelke. Our dear Lucy has crossed the rainbow bridge, and our hearts are broken. Over the years Lucy would come in for daycare, but she didn’t come for the dogs…she came for the people. There are so many stories about Lucy that I could tell, but I think the biggest story of all is one that all pet families share…Lucy wasn’t just a dog, she was a family member. Not only was she (and all pets we come to know and love,) a member of her own family but The Urban Paw family as well. In her honor I have posted the very first picture I have in my possession of Lucy from 2017, and the very last picture from Christmas 2025. Rest in Peace Lucy.

In Memory of our favorite entertainer, Parker. Parker the doodle sadly and unexpectedly passed away this week. Parker has been coming to The Urban Paw for many years, and even with age his pep and playful nature never slowed down. As soon as he arrived he would go straight to the shelf with the toy box and demand full access to all toys at all times. We will all miss Parker’s antics and his sweet nature. Rest in peace big guy 😢

In Memory of my buddy Bubbles. Bubbles recently crossed the rainbow bridge and I miss her sassy little self already. Bubbles lived a full and happy life, causing mischief where she could and making friends everywhere she went. She will be missed dearly. Rest in peace my little buddy 😢

Happy FriYAY everyone!!! We have been extraordinarily busy, (so busy that there have been no pictures and no posts 😅,) but this morning the crew and I need to get a message out. Please, 🙏 please, please try to give us at least a 48 hour notice on cancellations. We have had a few last minute cancellations and no shows the morning of appointments. While we do understand that things happen, we also have no openings for a considerable amount of time to fit in other clients/new clients/and reschedules. Our waiting list is stacking up and when we get day of cancellations/no-shows those spots are tough to fill last minute, leaving groomers with a less than optimal day and paycheck. We do have a cancellation/no-show fee policy, but truly we would prefer to see you and your pet rather than enforce that policy. Please pay attention to your TWO reminders via text message, when you get that first text 48 hours prior to your appointment please call ASAP to make any changes. When you get your second reminder 24 hours prior this is also a better time to call than morning of, but definitely harder for us to sort out. Thank you 😊! We do appreciate you all! Enjoy this windy but beautiful Friday and get out there in the sunshine this weekend. ❤️

Hugo and Arlo!!! I wonder if they ever swap duties and obligations… 😂 I’m seeing double!!! These two doodles are excellent for grooming, and with fluff like that you have to be. This kind of beauty takes up some time, but they are so worth it. Double handsome, double good, double the Christmas treats!

Buddy (left) and Finn (right)!!!! These two doodles are a ton of fun and always manage to make friends and frienemies amongst the dogs in the play area. Finn might have hu**ed Kat the receptionist once or twice…and Buddy had his own agenda 😂. Don’t worry boys, we won’t tell Santa Paws 🐾 but truly these two boys are pretty good fellas.
