Did you know birds can get cataracts or fatty deposits in their lenses?

This often means they can’t see well and may not move around their cage as much.

Sometimes birds may need anti inflammatory eye drops or oral pain medications to help them feel better.

For all pets with cataracts increasing the light can help them see a little better.

Dogs who are brachycephalic with short noses like bulldogs, frenchies or pugs often have breathing problems.

This is due to smaller than normal nostrils and a long soft palate that falls into their trachea causing that choking wheezing sound. 👃

Getting worked up, overheated, or stressed can cause their smaller than normal airways to get smaller which can be life threatening. 🥵

A surgery by a specialty surgeon can remove that long piece of tissue and open up the airways. 🐶
